Curator’s statement
My first trip to Greece took me through Athens, Paros, and Santorini, each offering a completely different side of the country. Athens felt like the perfect starting point—a quick and energetic introduction filled with incredible history and an amazing food scene. Paros, however, was the true escape. It’s the kind of island where you slow down, explore small villages, spend long afternoons by the sea, and really settle into the rhythm of Greek island life. Santorini delivers the iconic Greece everyone imagines—dramatic cliffs, whitewashed buildings, and unforgettable sunsets—but Paros was the place that truly stole my heart.

Day 1: Athens arrival

Arrive in Athens, the perfect introduction to Greece. Spend the afternoon wandering through the historic neighborhoods of Plaka and Monastiraki, where narrow streets are filled with cafés, markets, and small boutiques. With the Acropolis towering above the city, it’s impossible not to feel the weight of history everywhere you turn. End the evening with dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the illuminated Parthenon.
Day 2: Athens food & history tour

One of the best ways to understand Athens is through a private food and history walking tour. Local guides weave together stories of ancient Greece with the modern culinary traditions that define the city today. As you move through markets, bakeries, and small tavernas, you’ll taste traditional dishes while learning about the culture behind them. It’s the perfect introduction before heading into the Greek islands.
Day 3: Ferry to Paros

Cycladic stone architecture and sweeping island views at Acron Villas.
After Athens, take a ferry into the Cyclades and arrive in Paros. The island immediately feels calmer and more relaxed than the mainland. Whitewashed buildings, quiet beaches, and stunning views of the Aegean create the kind of atmosphere people imagine when they dream about Greece. Settle into your stay at Acron Villas, perched above the sea.
Day 4: Exploring Paros by car

Morning views across the bay from Acron Villas.
Renting a car is one of the best ways to explore Paros. The island is filled with hidden beaches, scenic drives, and charming villages waiting to be discovered. Spend the day wandering along the coastline, stopping at small tavernas and quiet swimming spots along the way. The freedom to explore at your own pace is what makes Paros feel so special.
Day 5: Hidden villages of Paros

Traditional blue doors and quiet village corners in Paros.
One of the highlights of our time in Paros was exploring the island with a local private driver who showed us places most visitors never see. We traveled through quiet hillside villages where locals live, discovering small bakeries, neighborhood cafés, and peaceful village squares. Experiences like this reveal the authentic charm that makes Paros so memorable. It’s the side of Greece that many travelers miss.
Day 6: Naoussa Harbor

Fishing boats in the harbor of Naoussa.
Spend the day exploring Naoussa, one of the most beautiful harbor towns in the Cyclades. Fishing boats line the waterfront while restaurants and cafés spill out onto the harbor. It’s the perfect place to wander in the afternoon before settling in for a long seaside dinner. The relaxed atmosphere here captures everything that makes Paros such a special island.
Day 7: Ferry to Santorini

After several days enjoying the relaxed pace of Paros, continue the journey to Santorini. As the ferry approaches the island, the dramatic volcanic cliffs rising out of the sea immediately create an unforgettable first impression. Whitewashed villages appear to cling to the edge of the caldera high above the water. Spend the afternoon exploring the winding pathways and viewpoints before settling in to watch Santorini’s famous sunset.
Day 8: Exploring Santorini’s cliffside villages

Spend the day exploring Santorini’s iconic villages like Oia and Imerovigli. Whitewashed buildings, blue domes, and narrow pathways create the postcard scenery the island is known for. Walking along the caldera reveals breathtaking views at nearly every turn. It’s the perfect place to wander slowly, stopping at cafés and viewpoints overlooking the Aegean.
Day 9: Sailing the Santorini caldera

One of the most memorable experiences of the trip was sailing the caldera on a private catamaran. Seeing Santorini from the water offers a completely different perspective of the towering cliffs and villages above. The boat stopped at several swimming spots where the water was incredibly clear before the evening sunset. Watching the sun disappear over the Aegean from the deck of the boat was the perfect way to experience the island.
Day 10: Departure

Enjoy one final morning in Santorini before departing Greece. Early mornings on the island are peaceful, with soft light illuminating the caldera before the crowds arrive. It’s the perfect moment to reflect on the journey from historic Athens to the Cycladic islands. Greece has a way of leaving travelers already dreaming about their return.
Need to know
Ferries are the easiest way to travel between the islands, and booking tickets in advance is recommended during peak summer months.
While Santorini is famous for its dramatic views, travelers looking for a more relaxed and authentic island experience should consider spending more time in Paros. Renting a car in Paros makes it much easier to explore beaches, hillside villages, and smaller towns around the island.
For a truly memorable experience in Santorini, consider sailing the caldera by boat at sunset. Seeing the island from the water offers a completely different perspective.
