Advisor - Our Honeymoon: 12 Days in Paris, Barcelona, Nice & Rome
Curator’s statement

This is a breakdown of what my wife, Marissa, and I did for our honeymoon. It combined each of our top countries to visit (Spain and France). This trip had a great mix of history, culture, and beaches.

Day 1: Paris

Croque Madame at Le Moliere

Have breakfast at Le Molliere—try the Croque Madame! With the hotel location, we were very close to the Luxembourg Garden. Take the opportunity to explore the beautiful scenery. There are lots of chairs, so bring a book and relax for a few hours.

We had dinner at LM. The beef tartare and cordon bleu were excellent.

Paris is great. There are so many stands to choose from for desserts and crepes. The hotel is also close to some historic landmarks. We checked out Notre Dame Cathedral on the first day.

Day 2: Paris

Hot chocolate at Lex Deux Margots

We scheduled a visit to the Louvre. For breakfast, we went to Lex Deux Margots, known for its hot chocolate—it did not disappoint.

For lunch, we visited McDonald's, as we like to do in each country we visit. The Maple McBacon stood out here.

Dinner was at Cote Saint Germain, the best restaurant of the trip. They had the best French onion soup and great duck.

It's best to reserve the Louvre in advance. It is huge and overwhelming.

At night, we went to a bar called Tennessee Paris. It was hot and small, and karaoke was in a basement cellar, but the vibes were great.

Day 3: Paris

Marissa on the Eiffel Tower

Today, we visited the Eiffel Tower. This was a little farther from the hotel, so we took an Uber and got breakfast at Gustave. The Eiffel Tower was wonderful and is worth going up. Tickets can be reserved 60 days in advance.

For lunch, we went to Topoki and had Korean corn dogs and wings—this was very good and close to the hotel.

For dinner, we went to La Grille Vinatge. Marissa loved the ravioli here.

We visited Chapon during the day for their famous chocolate mousse. This is worth a visit!

Day 4: Paris & Barcelona

Some great views in Barcelona

We got breakfast at L'atelier. Unfortunately, they overcharged me and it led to a dispute case.

We flew to Barcelona and immediately did a food tour, which is such a great way to meet people. We had tapas and plenty of wine.

Afterward, we went to karaoke with members of the group and ended up at a nightclub called Bling Bling. This was one of the craziest experiences of my life. So much fun!

Day 5: Barcelona

Sagrada Familia

We had lunch at McDonald’s. The McExtreme burger was our favorite.

We visited the Sagrada Familia on this day. It was stunning to see in person, and there are great shopping areas around there.

Dinner was at Restaurant Can Ros.

Day 6: Sitges Beach Day

Sitges Beach

We took the train from Barcelona to Sitges, which took about 30 minutes. We had breakfast at Cafe Berlin, which had great service.

The beach was great, and the town itself was very cute. After a few hours, we had lunch at Amanit, and then went back to Barcelona.

Dinner was at Teller de Tapas, which had good seafood options.

Day 7: Barcelona

We went shopping at Maremagnum Mall. There are a lot of great food options and shops here.

We had lunch at Perlazul and dinner at Eldiset. Unfortunately, this was our least favorite meal of the trip.

We capped the night at El Bestiari for drinks—highly recommended!

We also went to Barceloneta Beach, which was very busy and not as enjoyable as Sitges.

Day 8: Barcelona & Nice

We missed the beach in Barcelona but were excited for what Nice might bring.

This was another travel day. We had breakfast at Nonna Knows Best in Barcelona. Upon arriving in Nice, I was ill. Marissa went out and got a calzone for dinner and some gelato. Travel days are good for some extra downtime.

Day 9: Nice

The beach in Nice was great!

We had breakfast at Tea and Coffee, lunch at Lou Pastroulol, and dinner at Chicken Chicken.

This day was dominated by the beach. We loved the beach in Nice and did not mind the stones at all.

Marissa also did a bar crawl group tour while I explored the town late at night. The vibes were great in Nice.

Day 10: Nice

The #ILoveNice sign is a top attraction.

This could be a great opportunity to explore Monaco or Villefranche-sur-Mer.

We decided to stay in Nice. We spent time at the beach and did some shopping.

Marana was great for Turkish eggs for breakfast. We also ate at Etna Rosso and had sushi at Le Hall.

Day 11: Nice

Can't go wrong with a limoncello spritz

We rented chairs at Castel Plage Beach Club and stayed until mid-afternoon. This is definitely worth it!

We had lunch at Maranna and dinner at Carpe Diem before enjoying a night out in Nice. The nightlife was great there.

Day 12: Rome

The views in Rome can't be beat.

Rome was a filler for us for flight purposes. We, of course, got McDonald's while there, as well as Volpe Pasini, Appetiti, and Tempio di Mercante. The latter was our favorite in Rome.

We visited the Colosseum, a cat sanctuary, and the Pantheon during our day here. Marissa also got a tattoo at Aureo, which is a place where Demi Lovato had gotten a tattoo.

Need to know

The trip was a blast for us: a good combination of history and culture tied in with beach time and nightlife. This has it all!
