Day 1: Quinta Avenida
Activity: Relax at the beach and explore Quinta Avenida.
Ease into your trip with a relaxing day on Playa del Carmen’s stunning beaches. Soak in the sun, swim in the turquoise waters and then take a leisurely stroll along Quinta Avenida, the main street lined with shops, restaurants and bars.
Insider Tip: Head to Mamitas Beach Club for great beachside service and drinks. For dinner, try Alux Restaurant, an underground cave restaurant for a unique dining experience.
Day 2: Tulum
Activity: Explore Tulum and swim in the cenotes.
Spend the day visiting the famous Tulum ruins, just an hour’s drive from Playa del Carmen. After exploring the ancient Mayan city, cool off by swimming in one of the many nearby cenotes, such as Cenote Dos Ojos.
Insider Tip: Arrive early to Tulum to avoid the heat and crowds. Cenotes Dos Ojos is a must-visit for its crystal-clear waters and unique cave diving experience.
Day 3: Cozumel
Activity: Visit Cozumel for snorkeling and diving.
Take a ferry to Cozumel, a nearby island known for its vibrant coral reefs and underwater wildlife. Spend the day snorkeling or diving in some of the best spots in the Caribbean.
Insider Tip: Book a snorkeling tour with Cozumel Tours to see the best reefs, including Palancar and Columbia reefs. Don’t miss the island’s downtown for some delicious seafood.
Day 4: Chichen Itza and Valladolid
Activity: Day trip to Chichen Itza and Valladolid.
Discover one of the New Seven Wonders of the World at Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and dive deep into the history of the Mayan civilization. Afterward, visit the charming colonial town of Valladolid for a relaxing afternoon.

Day 5: Xcaret Park
Activity: Adventure at Xcaret Park.
Spend your last day in Playa del Carmen exploring Xcaret Park, an eco-archaeological theme park that offers a variety of activities from underground river swims to wildlife encounters. End the day with their famous Xcaret México Spectacular show, a cultural extravaganza that showcases Mexico’s rich history and traditions.
Insider Tip: Buy tickets in advance for a discount. Wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be doing a lot of walking throughout the park.
Day 6: Akumal
If you have more time, consider a visit to Akumal, where you can snorkel with sea turtles or check out the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve for a more off-the-beaten-path adventure in nature.
