Day 1: Arrive in Utah

Arriving by air from out of state, begin the journey to the red rock canyons of southern Utah from Salt Lake City for the closest airport. First stop is Dead Horse Point State Park for stunning views of the meandering Colorado River and steep rocky cliffs. This park’s awe-inspiring scenery has been used by Hollywood countless times — most notably in “Thelma & Louise” and the opening scene of “Mission: Impossible 2”.
Continue to Canyonlands National Park and explore the “Island in the Sky” District. This section of the park sits high atop a plateau surrounded by 2,000-foot cliffs. These red rock formations were carved by wind and water over millennia, creating a landscape that seemed almost otherworldly. Drive to the very end of the plateau and set off on a short hike to Grand View Point. Known for having one of the best panoramic views in the entire national park system. As the day concludes, arrive in the city of Moab and enjoy a western-style dinner at Josie Wyatt's before recharging for day two!
Day 2: Arches National Park

Venture into the iconic Arches National Park, a geological wonderland where nature’s artistry is on full display. Journey on a challenging yet rewarding hike to the world-famous Delicate Arch. As you stand beneath this natural masterpiece, you’ll be awestruck by its grandeur and feel a sense of wonder that will last a lifetime. Leave time for a scenic drive through the park. Taking in breathtaking views of towering rock formations and vibrant desert landscapes, surrounded by tall, thin, vertical slabs of rock known as “fins.” Be sure to visit the Windows Section and Double Arch for awe-inspiring photo opportunities!
Return to Moab and take the opportunity to explore local shops and browse southwest-inspired art galleries. Surprisingly, Moab has a really great Thai food scene! Bangkok House Too is a favorite because they have outdoor seating and the food is fast!
Day 3: From Moab to Torrey

Embark on a breathtaking journey from Moab to Torrey, Utah. Make a stop at Goblin Valley State Park, a whimsical landscape of hoodoo formations that will transport you to another world. These otherworldly rock sculptures, shaped by the relentless forces of wind and water, were the “rock monsters” from the comedy film Galaxy Quest.
After exploring this unique terrain, continue the drive to Capitol Reef National Park. Embark on a captivating hike that showcases the park’s stunning scenery. Including views of the Waterpocket Fold, a geologic marvel where the Earth’s crust has been uplifted. Explore the Grand Wash area or hike along the scenic Fremont River Trail through the lush Fruita district.
After checking into your lodging, relax before treating yourselves with dinner at Hunt and Gather Restaurant.
Day 4: Boulder Mountain and Bryce Canyon

Depart pre-dawn to catch the sunrise over the stunning landscape of Boulder Mountain, overlooking Capitol Reef National Park. As the first rays of sunlight illuminate the dramatic cliffs and canyons, you’ll be captivated by the breathtaking beauty of this remote region.
Reward yourself for your early rise with a stop at the remote Kiva Koffeehouse on Route 12 between Boulder and Escalante en route to Bryce Canyon National Park.
At Bryce Canyon, embark on the iconic Navajo/Queen’s Garden Loop Trail, often hailed as one of the “World’s best 3-mile hikes”. This trail offers stunning panoramic views of the Bryce Amphitheater and its unique hoodoo formations.
Spend a bit of time at the Visitor Center before beginning the drive to Zion National Park.
As you enter through the East Entrance of Zion National Park, you will be greeted by breathtaking views of the park’s dramatic landscapes. Photo Ops!!
Continue to the town of Springdale, where you can unwind at your lodging. Kings Landing is a must for dinner. One of the best burgers you will ever have!
Day 5: Zion National Park.

Take a deep dive into the heart of Zion National Park. Be sure to make it an early day (pre-dawn) to avoid large crowds. Once inside Zion, arrive at the Visitor Center and board a shuttle that will take you into the canyon, where you can embark on a hike along the Virgin River. There will be the Narrows. Arguably the most famous feature in Zion National Park will be the Narrows, a stunning slot canyon where towering cliffs rise hundreds of feet above. Dress appropriately as you wade through the cool, clear water, surrounded by towering sandstone walls.
Equally iconic is the Angels Landing Trail. Angels Landing requires a permit. It is a challenging and strenuous hike with steep switchbacks, narrow sections with drop-offs and the need to hold onto chains in some areas. While it’s not technically difficult, it can be physically demanding and mentally challenging. Especially for beginners or those with a fear of heights.
Choose to explore other iconic trails like the Scout Lookout Trail or the Emerald Pools Trail, offering breathtaking views and unique geological formations. Continue hiking at least a half mile past Scout Lookout in Zion. It’s nice to leave the crowds behind for a bit on that trail and there’s some great views. Even better if you’re fit and have the time is to continue on West to Cabin Spring and back.
