Day 1: The Royal Palace, floating saunas, & panoramic views

Monolitten in Frogner Park, Oslo
Oslo city centre is just a 23-minute airport train ride (Flytoget) or a 40-minute drive from Oslo Airport (OSL). After checking into your hotel, start your romantic weekend with a scenic stroll towards the historic Frogner Park.
Morning: Pastries and public art
On your way, make a mandatory pit stop at W.B Samson, one of Oslo’s oldest bakeries. Grab a rich coffee and a couple of their famous warme kanelboller (Norwegian cinnamon buns) to fuel your walk.
From there, wander through the Palace Park (Slottsparken) to admire the Royal Palace before hitting Bogstadveien, Oslo’s premier shopping street. Continue on until you reach Vigeland Sculpture Park. Located inside Frogner Park, this world-famous attraction features over 200 striking sculptures created by a single artist, Gustav Vigeland. Walk hand-in-hand up to the Monolith (Monolitten) at the highest point for a stunning, panoramic view over the city.
Local tip: Palace Park is entirely free to walk through and offers a gorgeous, quiet backdrop for couples’ photos.
Afternoon and evening: Fjord saunas and a romantic cruise
As the afternoon winds down, head toward the iconic Oslo Opera House. Walk directly up its white marble roof for incredible views of the Oslofjord.
Just a short distance from the Opera, you’ll spot the city’s famous floating saunas bobbing in the harbor. If you and your partner are feeling adventurous, book a session! The local tradition dictates jumping straight into the ice-cold fjord water and immediately running back into the wood-fired warmth of the sauna.
After refreshing at your hotel, cap off your first night with a luxurious dinner cruise for two, watching the city lights twinkle across the water as you sail past the shoreline.
Day 2: Exploring the majestic Oslofjord & Nordic cocktails

Kayaking in the Oslofjord
Norway is famous worldwide for its dramatic fjords and coastlines, and you don’t have to leave the capital to experience them.
Morning: Island hopping or kayaking the fjord
Spend your second day experiencing the water. If you want a relaxed day, grab a public ferry from Aker Brygge for an island-hopping tour around the historic islands of the Oslofjord. If you want a more active day, book a guided 3-hour sea kayak tour. You’ll paddle your way through the peaceful fjord, and don’t worry, absolute beginners are perfectly welcome!
Activity match:
Island hopping: Best for slow-paced sightseeing, history buffs, and picnics
Kayaking tour: Best for active couples, unique photo angles, and light adventure
Dinner and drinks: Seafood and world-class mixology
Once you’ve built up an appetite, head over to the waterfront neighborhood of Sørenga. Grab a table at Seaport Restaurant, where you can dine on exceptionally fresh Norwegian seafood right at the water’s edge, overlooking the Opera House. Afterward, grab a scoop of gelato from Paradis Gelateria for a sweet stroll along the boardwalk.
End your evening with a date night at HIMKOK. Routinely ranked among the world’s best bars, this hidden cocktail destination is famous for its in-house distillery and creative drinks infused with distinct Nordic flavors like cloudberry, birch, and aquavit.
Day 3: Museum peninsula walks & a trendy farewell

Norwegian Stave Church
Morning: Culture and coastal architecture on Bygdøy
Spend your final morning catching the local ferry from Aker Brygge over to the Bygdøy Peninsula. Known as Oslo’s museum hub, Bygdøy houses incredible historical treasures. You can easily spend hours exploring:
The Fram Museum: Stand inside the strongest wooden polar ship ever built.
The Kon-Tiki Museum: See the legendary balsa wood rafts of Thor Heyerdahl.
The Norwegian Museum of Cultural History: An open-air museum featuring a stunning, authentic 13th-century Stave Church.
Aside from history, Bygdøy is a peaceful, affluent peninsula wrapped in walking paths. It’s a wonderful place to share a quiet lunch while admiring the beautiful coastal houses and rolling green hills.
Afternoon: One last pit stop
After the ferry drops you right back at the bustling docks of Aker Brygge, take one last romantic stroll along the boardwalk. This vibrant pier is the heartbeat of Oslo’s modern waterfront, lined with striking contemporary architecture, outdoor dining, and views of Akershus Fortress across the harbor.
Before heading back to your hotel to grab your bags, celebrate the end of your getaway with a late lunch at Lofoten Fiskerestaurant. Located right on the pier, it’s renowned for serving authentic, high-end Norwegian seafood. Sit outside by the water and share a steaming platter of fresh blue mussels or try their signature creamy fish soup.
If you prefer a more casual but equally scenic vibe, grab a patio table at Olivia Aker Brygge for wood-fired stone oven pizzas and a glass of wine, toast to an unforgettable weekend getaway, and watch the boats cruise across the fjord one last time.
