Things to do in Kaua'i

Kaua'i, Hawai'i, is an incredible destination where wonderful experiences await. From personal experience, I can tell you that Kaua‘i is absolutely stunning. My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon on this island. We did so many exciting things but still enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere that is Hawai'i. Upon arrival, I recommend renting a car to get around the island. Turo is a great option because you know exactly what car you will get, and there is even a free shuttle from the airport to the Turo parking lot that comes every 20 minutes.

  • Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours is a must-do if you are looking for a thrill and are ready to be in awe of beautiful scenery. On the flight, you will see the entire lush green island and glistening blue waters from a bird's eye view. They will take a full video of your experience and photos of you with the helicopter. You are also able to take photos from within the helicopter.

  • If you want to swim with sea turtles and spot vibrant fish, but you are not ready for deep-sea scuba diving, Kauai Zodiac Tourz is a wonderful choice for snorkeling off the shore. They provide full guidance before and during your time snorkeling, and they also offer snacks and drinks after the time spent swimming and exploring in the ocean. I recommend bringing a waterproof camera meant for submersion in water for taking photos and videos of the marine life.

  • If you seek relaxation, Spa at Koloa Landing provides oceanfront couples' massages that are luxurious and deeply relaxing. You will feel rejuvenated after this experience. And you cannot forget to go to a Hawaiian luau. Smith's Family Garden Luau presents traditional Hawaiian culture with a full buffet of delicious food. They show you the process of cooking underground, and after dinner, there is a live show. It is such a spectacular experience.

Places to eat & drink in Kaua'i

  • Jojo's Shave Ice at Coconut Marketplace is refreshing and very delicious. Shave ice is very popular on the island and is worth the try.

  • Bobby V's Italian Restaurant Pizzeria is heavenly, and the service is phenomenal. They have great options, and the pasta is delicious.

  • The Smith Family Garden Luau has all the traditional Hawaiian foods you may need, and it comes with a show. They also show you how they grill underground and provide everything buffet-style.

  • The Kalyspso Island Bar & Grill has excellent tapas-style food and wonderful drinks. The service is excellent. It will help to have a reservation here.

  • Brennecke’s Beach Broiler is a great beachside restaurant. The restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere, and you can go near dinner time and see the sea turtles come to shore right across from the restaurant.

I also would recommend restaurants offered at the resort or hotel at which you may be staying. The food in Kaua'i is pretty great everywhere!
