Day 1: Arriving on the island

St. John in a nutshell - crystal clear water, amazing views, and Jeeps!
Getting to St. John is not for the faint of heart. You will land on St. Thomas, take a taxi to the Red Hook ferry terminal, and take the 20 minute ferry ride to St. John. Once on the island, your first stop should be steps away from the ferry at Beach Bar. I recommend their Southwest salad and chicken basket. After grabbing a bite to eat, you will want to pick up your rental Jeep and head to your accommodation. For dinner I would recommend The Longboard in Cruz Bay. Their ceviche is delicious! End the night with a drink at Woody's, a St. John staple.
Day 2: Coral Bay, Salt Pond & Ram Head

The view from the top of Ram Head
Start your morning off by grabbing breakfast and a picnic lunch to go from North Shore Deli. From there, drive across Centerline Road to Salt Pond. It's a short hike down to the beach, but worth it. From Salt Pond you can access the Ram Head hiking trail. Go early-it gets hot! Ram Head is a relatively easy hike with amazing views. Once you are back down on the beach, enjoy a few hours and a picnic lunch at Salt Pond. This is one of the quieter beaches on the island. Before heading back across the island, check out Skinny Legs for a quick drink or appetizer. For dinner I would recommend Windmill Bar. Go early to get a seat and be sure to stay for sunset. You won't be disappointed!
Day 3: Rent a dinghy

Taking a dip at Oppenheimer Beach
One of my favorite things to do while on the island is rent a dinghy from Wharfside Watersports. It's a great way to check out the North Shore beaches without having to wrestle for a parking spot. Before heading to Wharside, grab a breakfast sandwich and coffee from Provisions. My recommendation for lunch would be to beach the dinghy at Maho and grab a bite to eat at one of the food trucks. My favorite beaches on-island are Scott and Oppenheimer. Be sure to check them out! After your day on the water, I recommend 1864 for dinner. Be sure to make reservations. Again, end your night with a drink at Woody's or Beach Bar.
Day 4: Cinnamon Bay

One of the scenic overlooks on North Shore Road
This is one of my favorite spots on the island. Grab breakfast at High Tide and then head down North Shore Road to Cinnamon Bay. Across the street from the parking lot, there is a walking trail that is worth checking out. Cinnamon Bay has a food truck so no need to pack a lunch. Although, I can't resist the sandwiches at North Shore Deli for a packed lunch option. Get there early, before 10:00, as the parking lot does get full fast! For your last night on island, I would recommend a casual dinner at the Tap & Still. Delicious burgers, trust me! Then do some shopping in Cruz Bay before heading back to pack up your suitcases for your journey home.
