Things to do in Santorini
Catamaran Tour
Our guides were lovely and cooked us a delicious lunch, showed us all around the island, were so nice to our children, and brought a stand up paddle board and filmed us on it with a drone as a souvenir.
Wineries
Volcanic sand proves to be fabulous for growing grapes and Santorini has produced some delicious wine. Argyros is the oldest winery on the island and Venetsanos Winery has the best view.
Red Beach
This is the most famous beach in Santorini due to its unique scenery.
Black Beaches
There is more than one (Persia and Perivolos). These beaches usually have sunbeds and couches and sometimes have a bit more of a party atmosphere than Red Beach.
Karma Greek Restaurant
This is right in the middle of a pedestrian road in Oia (very close to Fanari Villas). Whether eating in the romantic setting and enjoying the cozy, beautiful bar or getting takeout to bring back to your villa to watch the sunset, you can’t go wrong here.
Sunset
Use your hotel if you’re there
Hiking Fira Trail
you can hike a scenic trail connecting Fira and Oia, two sides of the island.
Amoudi Bay
This is an iconic spot on the island and you can get there by walking down a rocky, steep trail. Amoudi is a great place to unwind and has delicious restaurants. The seafood doesn’t get any more fresh
Relax
Out of all of Santorini, we have stayed here twice. The service is exceptional. The rooms give you the feeling that you’ve stepped back in time, but in a modern, luxurious way. It is too cool to be inside a cave! There’s calm, Greek music playing during their breakfast buffet every morning and it’s not uncommon to see cats and kittens roaming around. Drinking your coffee while looking out at the Caldera is incredible. Their pool is half in the sun, half in a cave. It’s a wonderful way to get the best of both worlds and cool off after being in the sun. Many rooms even have their own private outdoor whirlpools! When it comes time for dinner, grab it from Karma and take it back to your villa. Since you have a perfect view of the sunset, it’s a much more comfortable experience than fighting crowds to grab a seat!
Get lost in the streets
Santorini is a fabulous place to explore. There’s no shortage of shops and restaurants to duck into. Whether you’re shopping or just enjoying the exploration, you’ll find something new, whether it’s a souvenir or a gorgeous view. While the villas are in Oia, you can go to Fira and see Minoan artifacts at Akrotiri.
Catamaran Tour
A boat tour is a must here, as there’s so many views of the island that are sometimes even better from the sea. Santorini has several beaches with different colored sand, such a red, white and black. The tours will take you by these different beaches and they provide a freshly cooked seafood lunch and wine and take you to different swimming and snorkeling spots, including a hot springs!
