Curator’s statement
Florence is one of those destinations that feels timeless from the moment you arrive. I love it for the way it blends Renaissance beauty, incredible food, walkable streets, and unforgettable art into a city that still feels intimate and romantic. It is the kind of place where you can spend the morning admiring world-famous landmarks and the evening lingering over dinner with a view of the Arno. For travelers who want culture, beauty, and a strong sense of place, Florence is incredibly special.

Day 1: Florence icons & the Historic Center

Duomo @bellapoggioevents
Start your first day by exploring the heart of Florence on foot, since the city is wonderfully compact and easy to navigate. Begin at the Duomo area, then wander toward Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza della Signoria before making your way to Ponte Vecchio for one of the city’s most iconic views. I recommend keeping this first day fairly relaxed so you can really enjoy the atmosphere, pause for coffee, and take in the architecture without rushing. Florence is very walkable, so comfortable shoes are a must, and this is the perfect day to simply get your bearings and fall in love with the city.
Day 2: Art, palaces & gardens

Centro Storico @bellapoggioevents
Dedicate your second day to Florence’s extraordinary art and museum scene. I would start with the Uffizi in the morning, since timed entry is required, and then continue on to Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens later in the day. The official PassePartout ticket is especially useful here because it covers all three sites over five consecutive days, giving travelers flexibility if they want to linger or split things up. This day is ideal for travelers who want the full Renaissance experience, with masterpieces indoors and sweeping garden views in the afternoon.
Day 3: Oltrarno, local flavor & sunset views

Ponte Vecchio at sunset
Spend your final day crossing into the Oltrarno side of Florence, which feels a bit more local and relaxed while still being full of beauty. This is a lovely day for slow exploring, artisan shops, a long lunch, and taking in the city at a gentler pace before ending with sunset views over Florence. I especially recommend this approach for couples and honeymooners because it balances the busier sightseeing of the first two days with a more romantic, lived-in feel. If time allows, this is also a great day to revisit a favorite spot or enjoy one last aperitivo by the river.
Need to know
Florence is a great destination for travelers who want a city that feels rich in culture but still manageable in size, since it can be crossed on foot fairly quickly. The Uffizi is closed on Mondays, so it is worth planning museum days carefully, and booking major attractions in advance is a smart idea. Travelers interested in art and gardens should look at the official combined ticket for the Uffizi, Pitti Palace, and Boboli Gardens, since it offers flexibility over five consecutive days. Overall, Florence works beautifully for romantic getaways, honeymoons, and travelers who want to combine iconic sightseeing with memorable food and wine.
