Curator’s statement
Venice is not just a destination—it's a feeling you cannot replicate anywhere else in the world. The absence of cars, the rhythm of the canals, and the layers of history make every moment feel intentional and immersive. As a travel advisor, Venice reminds me of why thoughtful planning matters: When experienced the right way, it becomes deeply personal, emotional, and unforgettable. It will stay with you long after you leave.

Day 1: Food tour & gondola ride

On the day of arrival, you will need a water taxi to your accommodations. This ride on the grand canal will be the beginning of your epic adventure, stepping back in time. Venice is a city where "getting lost" in the streets is a treat for the senses.
As a travel advisor, I would recommend a food tour on your first day to get a taste of Venice. Book a tour that highlights Venetian "small bites," or cicchetti. They pair them with wine and views for an unforgettable experience.
Today would also be a great day for a gondola ride—you can find these all over the city. Watch the sunset from Accademia bridge for an Instagrammable moment and a nightcap at world-renowned Harry's Bar. I recommend the "Living on a Pear" for a sweet and sour treat!
Day 2: Hidden Venice walking tour & St. Mark's and Doge's Palace night tour

St. Mark's after dark
Start your day with breakfast at Caffè Florian, a must-visit bakery in St. Mark's Square where the waiters all wear tuxedos. If you are lucky, you can hear the orchestra playing outdoors.
Take a walking tour, specifically one that will go to the hidden corners of Venice. Get out of the crowds and into the smaller streets and alleys. Liberia Aqua Alto, Teatro La Fenice, Cantina Do Mori, and multiple churches should be on your route. I work with companies that can tailor your tour to your specific interests. Be prepared to walk and cross many bridges, but the views will be worth every step!
In the evening, take a VIP night tour of St. Mark's and Doge's Palace, allowing you to see these beautiful places without the crowds and heat. You enter the church in darkness and then witness it in full light! It is a breathtaking experience.
Have dinner at Osteria Oliva Nera, a family-run restaurant with the most authentic food in the Castello district. You must try their homemade squid-ink maccheroncini with bottarga, cherry tomatoes, and lime. It may turn your mouth black, but you won't mind—trust me!
Day 3: Rialto Bridge & depart Venice

Gelato in Venice
Get up and tour at sunrise today. Be there as the city awakens and the locals get ready to wow you for one last day. Go to the Rialto Bridge area for some shopping and more food. Stop at Gelatogallonetto for the best gelato in Venice before it's time to head to the train station and onto your next stop.
Need to know
Venice is best explored slowly—get lost on purpose and you'll find the magic away from the crowds. Rest during peak daytime and focus on sunrise and early evening. Venice after the day-trippers leave is unforgettable. Pack light and, most importantly, enjoy!
