Advisor - Bimini Bahamas Travel Guide 2025: Best Beaches, Virgin Voyages Beach Club & Shore Excursions
Curator’s statement

Bimini may be small, but it’s packed with charm. I love how the island mixes vibrant history with laid-back beach vibes—you can explore one minute and relax the next. The beaches are stunning, and there’s a sense of intimacy here compared to bigger islands. For me, the Virgin Voyages Beach Club experience made it extra special: it’s both relaxing and fun, giving you a perfect mix of luxury and island simplicity.

Things to do in Bimini

Virgin Voyages Beach Club

For cruise travelers, the Beach Club is a highlight. With pristine beachfront, private cabanas, infinity pools, and curated food and drinks, it’s designed for relaxation and fun. I loved how you could spend the morning by the pool and then head to the ocean for a swim without ever feeling rushed. The DJ sets and entertainment add energy in the afternoon, while quiet mornings keep it serene.

Radio Beach

One of the island’s most popular beaches, Radio Beach is close to the cruise pier and perfect for a short visit. The water is clear, the sand is soft, and vendors nearby sell local snacks and cold drinks. I enjoyed grabbing a conch fritter here—it’s the kind of simple, authentic beach experience that feels perfectly Bahamian.

Sapona shipwreck snorkel

Just offshore lies the Sapona, a partially sunken shipwreck that’s become a haven for marine life. Snorkeling here is incredible, with schools of fish darting around the structure and the rusting ship making for an adventurous backdrop. It’s one of those excursions that feels like a mix of history and fun.

Dolphin House Museum

Built by local historian Ashley Saunders, the Dolphin House is a one-of-a-kind spot filled with seashells, mosaics, and artifacts. Touring it feels like stepping into someone’s personal story of Bimini. I loved how every corner of the house has a story—it’s a reminder of the island’s creativity and pride.

Fishing & diving

Bimini is famous for its waters, often called the “Big Game Fishing Capital of the World.” Whether you book a fishing charter or go diving with local operators, the ocean here feels alive. Divers often rave about the coral reefs and the chance to spot everything from stingrays to reef sharks. Even just talking to local fishermen gives you a sense of how important the sea is here.

Places to eat & drink in Bimini

  • Stuart’s Conch Stand: This roadside spot is legendary for fresh conch salad. Watching it made right in front of you—chopped with lime, tomato, and pepper—is part of the fun. It’s casual, local, and delicious.

  • Big John’s Bar & Grill: Located in Alice Town, Big John’s is great for a casual bite with ocean views. I enjoyed the fresh seafood and the friendly, welcoming vibe—it’s a place where you can eat, linger, and feel like part of the community.

  • The Tides at Resorts World Bimini: For something more upscale, The Tides offers a refined dining experience with seafood and international dishes. It’s perfect for couples or anyone wanting a nicer evening meal after a day at the beach.

  • Ebbie’s Snack Bar: This small, family-owned spot serves Bahamian comfort food at great prices. Fried fish, peas and rice, and macaroni are staples, and the portions are generous. It feels like eating a home-cooked meal.

  • Hemingway’s (Resorts World Bimini): Named after Ernest Hemingway, who famously spent time in Bimini, this restaurant combines island flavor with international style. It’s also a nod to the island’s history and culture, making it a unique dining stop.
