Curator’s statement

Portimão is one of the Algarve’s most atmospheric coastal cities—a place where golden beaches meet a working‑class fishing heritage, where sardine smoke once curled above the Arade River, and where modern cafés and restaurants now fill the old streets. It’s a destination that blends authenticity with sun‑drenched leisure, making it perfect for travelers who want more than just beaches.
