Things to do in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

There are so many activities for couples, friends, and families in Cabo, ranging from super chill to adventurous. There is really something for everyone; it just depends what type of trip you’re looking to have.

Every trip I take to Cabo includes spending the day at SUR Beach House. Their sushi is the best in the area and it’s only on their lunch menu. You can grab a day bed or chairs in the sand and spend the entire day ordering food and drinks to your chair. You can even get massages right in front on the beach. Feel free to leave your stuff at your table and ask them to assist you in booking jet skis or any other water activity.

For a more adventurous day, we’ll venture off for ATVing with Cabo Adventures. They take you about an hour away and you’ll have empty beach areas to yourself to explore at your own pace.

For families, I love to recommend the Sunset Pirate Ship Cruise and whale-watching cruises.

For couples, tequila tastings are a must, plus a romantic dinner at El Farallon. End the night dancing at Rooftop 360.

Places to eat & drink in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

SUR Beach House

Can’t miss bars and restaurants:

  • SUR Beach House: My fav place to spend the day. Hang out on the beach and have sushi delivered right to your chair. I go here every single time I’m in Cabo.

  • Tres Sirenas: Indoor/outdoor beachy restaurant featuring live entertainment and fresh fish. They’ll have a mariachi band sing to you for special occasions.

  • El Farallon: At the Waldorf Hotel, the views are insane and it’s definitely one of the most beautiful restaurants in Cabo. You’ll be dining cliffside overlooking the ocean, plus they have a champagne terrace.

  • Outpost: Bohemian-style two-story restaurant with fun decor. The margaritas are amazing! Great spot for brunch.

  • The Office on The Beach: A Cabo right of passage, this place is perfect any time of the day. Eat and drink with your toes in the sand.

  • The Rooftop 360: Best views of Cabo! Go for sunset, sushi, and late-night dancing. This is where I met my husband!

  • Bagatelle: If your idea of a good time is dancing on tables, this is the place for you.

  • Il Forno: The best pasta you’ll find in Cabo.

Need to know

How to get here and around:

Wherever you’re coming from, you’ll want to fly into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). Cabo San Lucas is about a 45-minute drive from SJD. Uber is not available for pick up, however, it can drop you off at the end of your stay.

To get to your hotel, hire an independent driver standing outside the airport when you land, wait for an official taxi at the stand, or you can pre-arrange transportation with your hotel. Once you are in the downtown area, Uber is a super cheap way to get around!

My top tip is to stay downtown because that’s where you’ll be spending most of your time exploring beach bars, restaurants, shops, water activities, and nightlife.
