Things to do in Todos Santos, Mexico

Scuba Diving La Paz - Sea Lion Colony

Beaches

There’s several beaches such as San Pedrito, Las Palmas, Punta Lobos (Hotel San Cristobal), La Cachora, La Pastora and last but not least, Playa Cerritos. Cerritos is the beach known for surfing and it’s one of the only swimmable beaches for several kilometers, apart from Las Palmas. Keep in mind that the surf may be bigger some days, so it’s just a matter of keeping an eye on the weather and flags that day.

Activities

There’s a bunch of activities available in the surrounding areas as well as its close proximity to Los Cabos and La Paz for even more opportunities (Day trip section). Around Todos Santos, Cerritos, and Pescadero (the three sister towns), you are able to do horseback riding, ATVS, razors, dirt bikes, surfing classes, hiking, snorkeling, and biking. For more laid-back activities there’s yoga, cooking and cocktail classes, turtle releases, spas, beach picnics, ceramic/art classes, and sunset walks. Turtle release season goes from December to April.

My favorite activity

My favorite activity to do in Todos Santos is hiking to Punta Lobos around sunset and watching it from the top of the cliff right over the ocean while listening to the marine life in the background. After the hike, head right next to Hotel San Cristobal for a drink at Pool Bar or La Playita, while watching the sun hide behind the ocean. This hike has several different trails that offer different difficulty levels and durations. The trail to the furthest point of the cliff is 4 mi roundtrip. This is a medium-difficulty hike. There’s also guided tours.

Around town

Todos Santos is known for its art scene, so there’s plenty of galleries, shops, and artisan markets to go see.

Day trips

30–40 mins out to La Paz, where you can snorkel, scuba, rent a private yacht, fish, whale watch, whale and shark swim, see Playa Balandra, or spend the day at a beach club like El Caimancito. My recommendation is to hop on a private yacht tour to go see Isla Espirtu Santo. I’ve got plenty of day-trip or overnight yacht options.

Los Cabos: There’s plenty of beach, sports fishing, private yacht tours, scuba diving, whale watching, paddle boarding, snorkeling, zip lining, and more.

Other options: Cabo Pulmo if you’re a certified scuba diver is a must. You can also snorkel. Las Ventanas, famous for kite surfing and glamping. Sierra de La Laguna, great day trip for hiking on waterfalls.
