Advisor - Sun, Sand & Smiles: A Family Guide to the Cayman Islands
Curator’s statement

The Cayman Islands hold a special place in our family's heart as a sanctuary of togetherness, where crystal-clear waters and warm breezes set the stage for unforgettable memories. We had so much fun snorkeling together and enjoyed simple sunsets on the beach. Each of those moments deepened our bond. It’s a beautiful place where laughter comes easily, time slows down, and we reconnect with what truly matters. This destination isn’t just a wonderful vacation place—it’s became part of our family’s story.

Things to do in the Cayman Islands

Soaking up sun, smiles, and island vibes in Cayman.

  • Stingray City: Wade and snorkel among gentle stingrays in shallow, clear waters—this place was close to our hotel and we spent multiple days on this unforgettable, family-friendly experience.

  • Seven Mile Beach: This is a perfect place for relaxing on the world-famous stretch of soft white sand. We experienced out-of-this-world happiness swimming and paddleboarding in these turquoise waters.

  • Explore George Town: We had the best Caribbean cuisine of our trip here, and then strolled along the harbor front.

  • Sunset sail: Enjoy a catamaran cruise with music, drinks, and stunning views of the sun setting over the Caribbean Sea.

  • Drive around and try local cuisines: Every evening, we used to drive around the island and try local cuisines like conch fritters, jerk chicken, and fresh-caught fish at beachside shacks.

Places to eat & drink in the Cayman Islands

One of our favorite local eateries in George Town

  • Cracked Conch: Upscale seafood with stunning ocean views, perfect for watching the sunset while dining on fresh conch and lobster.

  • Coconut Joe’s: A casual, family-friendly spot near Seven Mile Beach with great breakfast, burgers, and tropical cocktails.

  • Cayman Cabana: Waterfront dining in George Town with island-style tapas, craft cocktails, and fresh catch of the day.

  • Luca: Elegant Italian-Caribbean fusion on the beach, ideal for a romantic dinner or special family celebration.

  • Gelato & Co.: A sweet stop in Camana Bay for homemade gelato and espresso, loved by kids and adults alike.

Need to know

  • Best time to visit: December through April offers the best weather (dry season), but it's also peak season. May through November is quieter and more affordable, with occasional rain.

  • Currency: The Cayman Islands Dollar (KYD) is the local currency, but US dollars are widely accepted. Change is often given in KYD.

  • Driving: They drive on the left side! Rental cars are available, and you'll need to pay for a temporary driving permit.

  • Pack insect repellent, especially if you're exploring inland areas or out at night.
