Advisor - Your Perfect Guide to Las Vegas, Nevada
Curator’s statement

Las Vegas was my college graduation trip, and seeing all the themed resorts and casinos made it feel like I was traveling the world. I felt like I had visited Ancient Rome, Ancient Egypt, Paris, Venice, and New York all in two days. Whether you gamble or not, Vegas has a lot going for it.

Things to do in Las Vegas

The Venetian

Fremont Street

All along this street is a decorative ceiling that is always changing themes, diverse eateries, bars, and street performers. It is also pedestrian only, so no need to worry about crosswalks and cars! There is also an opportunity to go zip-lining over Fremont Street, and I wish I had done that!

The Stratosphere

The Strat is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the US, and there is even a diagram inside of how it compares to other notable towers. At the very top, there is a 360-degree walkthrough where you can see all of Vegas from above. I did not have the money for this, but there is also an opportunity to sky jump off the top of the stratosphere and ride a rollercoaster that hangs off the edge!

Hershey’s Chocolate World

What is unique about the Vegas location is that it is part of the New York-New York Hotel and Casino, which means it includes a chocolate statue of Lady Liberty! Like most Hershey’s stores, there’s a colorful flavor wall of candy, along with a bakeshop that sells a plethora of elegant Hershey and Reese’s desserts.

M&M World

This location was actually the first M&M location ever and, like the Hershey store, has a candy wall, both separated by color and mixed. Special to me because I am an M&M gal.

The Luxor

This resort is Ancient Egyptian themed, and if you look closely at the ceiling, it's also a pyramid-shaped building. The theater is also known for shows performed by longtime comedian Carrot Top. The Luxor also includes the King Tut’s Tomb Exhibition, where you can learn all about the discovery of King Tut’s mummy, see Egyptian murals, and even see a giant sphinx outside!

Caesar’s Palace

This Ancient Rome-themed hotel even includes an indoor Colosseum where comedians like Jerry Seinfeld perform.

The Venetian

My favorite out of all! I truly felt like I was in Italy with the architecture, the gelato shops, the Italian restaurants, the sky ceiling, the music, and the Venice Canal. You can even take a gondola ride in the canal here, with gondoliers who dress up in striped gondolier outfits and sing in Italian. It does not get more real than that!

Places to eat & drink in Las Vegas

The Venetian

  • The Venetian Resort: Authentic Italian food from many restaurants, as well as many gelato options.

  • Sugar Factory: A chain where they serve sliders with colored buns, as well as massive milkshakes. In addition, they serve cocktails from their Goblet Bar.

  • Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen: Restaurant in Caesars Palace where they serve dishes from the actual show.

  • Bobby's Burger's: Gourmet burger chain with burgers including the "Bobby Flay."

  • Secret Pizza: Budget-friendly pizza place in The Cosmopolitan; open late.

Need to know

I highly recommend seeing a themed Cirque du Soleil show.
