Austin’s Best Hotels

When planning your Austin trip, you’ll need to secure a hotel that does all the guesswork for you. I have two award-winning hotels in the Austin area that are my go-to for luxury travel clients and are situated in an excellent location, with impeccable accommodations and luxurious amenities.

1. Lake Austin Spa Resort:

Voted the Top Destination Spa in the U.S. by Condé Nast Traveler, Lake Austin Spa Resort is an all-inclusive, luxury getaway situated on Lake Austin, surrounded by hills and forests. For the ultimate girls' trip, you and your girls can enjoy five-star treatment at the spa, explore the grounds, take a kayak out on the lake, take a cooking class, and sip wine over the three meals that will be included with your stay! Not to mention, Lake Austin’s accommodations offer a “casual elegance”: perfectly blending the approachability of southern hospitality and charm with the high-class elegance of luxury. Their Premier Hot Tub Cottage and Signature Suite is perfect for your girls’ getaway, giving you plenty of indoor and outdoor space for hanging out, a warm fireplace, a private patio, and lush bedding and bath products for a mini spa experience in your room.

2. Miraval Austin:

Situated in the Balcones Canyon Preserve, with views spanning over 280 acres in each direction, Miraval Austin is a true wellness getaway with a special emphasis on nature and mindfulness.

To enhance your experience at Miraval, the spa implements a Digital Mindfulness philosophy where guests are highly encouraged to use personal devices in the privacy of their rooms and avoid bringing the noise of the outside world into their serene spa areas. You’ll also notice that when you book, you’ll be prompted to “set your intention” through Miraval’s Intention Inspiration Quiz; how cool is that?! Miraval is also big on all-inclusive packages because they want to take the guesswork out of their guests’ stay! For clients, I love booking the 'Unlimited' package that includes a $175 nightly resort credit, access to their on-site dining and their award-winning spa.

Alpine Coaster

You have to try Texas' Only Alpine Coaster: For the thrillseekers, you can scope out your adrenaline rush at Cliff Carver, the very first Alpine coaster in the state of Texas! This mile-long, gravity-propelled sled coasts down the side of a small mountain that offers breathtaking views of the Austin area. The sled only goes a maximum of 25 mph, so even your most timid friend can muster the courage to give it a go! Plus, the brakes allow the riders (maximum of 2 per sled) to go at their own pace. It costs $20 per person or $35 for a pair, and you can reserve your sled time online.

Places to Eat & Drink in Austin

There's tons of foodie spots in Austin, but I want you to experience the best of the best. So here are my recommendations as a luxury agent based in Texas.

The Oasis on Lake Travis:

Views! Views! Views! This is one of the best outdoor dining experiences in Austin. The Oasis serves up delicious Tex-Mex dishes on a tiered deck overlooking Lake Travis. You gotta try their house nachos, fajitas, burgers, and seafood. Drinks wise, the house cocktails like Margaritas, Bloody Mary’s, and local craft beers are great.

Taquero Mucho:

IG WORTHY! You’ll definitely want to bring your camera for this one. Taquero Mucho in Austin is a dining and photo-op session all wrapped in one. This spot makes for a great weekend brunch or weekday happy hour! The atmosphere is pink everywhere, with an aesthetic bar, and photo-worthy drinks and dishes.

You’ll definitely want to share the margarita flight, the “We Gucci” margarita, and their house-made tequila-infused honey. For food, try their delicious asada, quesadilla, and tortas!

Sign Bar:

Another super Instagram-able spot in town is the iconic Sign Bar! This nostalgia dream started as a passion for collecting vintage restaurant signs; now, guests can be transported back in time by their sheer volume of authentic memorabilia.

They have a full bar along with a vast array of food trucks serving up authentic Texas barbecue, Mexican food, Tex-Mex, and so much more.

Plan to spend a good amount of time here, because you’ll want to try all the unique cocktails and local brews on their menu like blackberry mules, spicy margaritas, Old Fashioneds, and their iconic Bloody Mary.
