Curator’s statement

Brazil holds a special place in my heart for various reasons. Initially captivated by the allure of its picturesque beaches and the cliffs of Rio, I found that what truly makes Brazil extraordinary is the warmth and enthusiasm of its people. From the electrifying atmosphere experienced during the 2016 Summer Olympics to post-pandemic explorations in small towns, I've done it all. The bustling urban center of Sao Paulo and the genuine spirit of Brazil is inviting. It will leave you wanting another trip. This destination reminds me that life's simplicity can be immensely rewarding, especially when celebrated with the welcoming and vibrant Brazilian community. Unique features, like the charm of small beach towns such as Ilhabela, add a touch of enchantment to every visit. Brazil, with its amazing food, awe-inspiring architecture, breathtaking landscapes, sun-kissed beaches and the warmth of its people perfectly aligns with my diverse travel passions. It creates an unforgettable and enriching experience every visit.

Sao Paulo

Parque do Ibirapuera (Park Ibirapuera): For the nature enthusiast, visit São Paulo's Parque Ibirapuera. Claimed to be one of the best urban parks in the world. Ibirapuera is a sprawling oasis where lush greenery, architectural landmarks and vibrant art installations all come together to create a serene escape for locals and visitors.

Museu de Arte (Museum of Art): If you’re looking for an art immersion on this trip, check out the rich tapestry of Brazilian and international art at the Museu de Arte. This is an iconic cultural institution in São Paulo showcasing diverse exhibitions. It is sure to promise an enriching journey through visual expression.

Mercado Municipal de Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo Municipal Market): If there is a foodie in your group, indulge your senses at São Paulo's Municipal Market. A bustling culinary haven where fresh produce, gourmet delights and local flavors intertwine. It provides a vibrant and eclectic gastronomic experience in the heart of the city. Check out my dining recommendations for some of my favorite snacks at the market.

Spa: Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city! Escape to one of the luxury spas, such as the one at the Fasano Hotel. While the city has so many different spa options to offer, talk with your travel advisor to discuss treatment options and preferences. We’ll be sure to find one that provides some recovery after a long day of urban exploration.

Rio de Janeiro

Praia de Copacabana (Copacabana Beach): Immerse yourself in the iconic energy of Rio de Janeiro at the world-famous Copacabana Beach. This is where golden sands stretch along the vibrant coastline. It offers a perfect blend of relaxation, sports, beachside refreshments and the lively atmosphere that will give you a taste of Carioca culture.

Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf Mountain): Ascend via cable car to the summit of Sugar Loaf Mountain for breathtaking panoramic views of Rio’s dramatic cityscape. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, it provides a spectacular vantage point for capturing the beauty of this iconic Brazilian city.

Christo de Redentor (Christ the Redeemer): Marvel at the awe-inspiring Christ the Redeemer. A top Corcovado Mountain, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and an iconic symbol of Rio de Janeiro that overlooks the city. Christo is sure to offer both a spiritual experience and stunning vistas of the surrounding natural beauty.

Escadaria Selarón (Selarón Steps): Swing by the well-known and colorful Selarón Steps, a mosaic-adorned staircase in the bohemian Santa Teresa neighborhood, where each step is a piece of vibrant street art, creating a visually captivating and immersive journey through Rio's artistic and cultural landscape.

Smaller Beach Towns

Step outside the mainstream destinations and escape to one of the smaller coastal locations that Brazil has to offer. Ilhabela and Fernando de Noronha are some of my recommendations. Connect with your travel advisor to see which ones line up best with your style, preferences and itinerary.
