Things to do in Charleston
Start the night at Republic
I’ve mentioned this one already, but honestly, it’s a must. No notes.
Spend an afternoon on King Street
King Street is where Charleston really shows off. It’s like our Rodeo Drive, but not really. You’ll find designer boutiques, cocktail bars, beauty spots, and tucked-away cafés and restaurants. You could easily spend an entire afternoon strolling without realizing it. Fans of Southern Charm will recognize the area immediately since so much of the city’s social scene on the show revolves around these blocks.
Stop by Sewing Down South
OG fans know how Craig Conover turned Sewing Down South from a reality TV storyline into one of Charleston’s most recognizable lifestyle brands. The shop has become a regular stop for Bravo fans visiting the city, but it still feels genuinely Charleston.
Rooftop cocktails before dinner (yes, please)
Charleston does rooftop season very well, especially when the sun sets. Citrus Club at The Dewberry remains one of the best rooftop views in the city, while Bar Vaute at The Cooper, Charleston’s newest luxury hotel, is going to give it a run for its money. You can’t go wrong with either. For a dayclub/beachclub vibe, check out the Pink Palm at the Ryder Hotel.
Honorable mention: The Rooftop at Vendue and The Cocktail Club
Take your time at brunch
No joke, Charleston brunch is practically a competitive sport at this point. Millers All Day, 82 Queen, Stars, and Halls are local favorites, depending on the vibe you want. Several of these spots have also appeared throughout Southern Charm over the years during cast brunches and daytime scenes.
Spend an evening around Shem Creek
Shem Creek is another backdrop across Southern Charm. If you want waterfront restaurants, dockside bars, and sunset boat culture, this is it. It’s one of the best places to experience Charleston outside of the historic downtown bubble.
Visit Charleston City Market & Rainbow Row
Not every Charleston moment has to revolve around cocktails and reality TV drama. Carve out some time to take in some of the city’s sacred history. Check out the International African American Museum, Rainbow Row, and Charleston City Market. You’ll recognize some of them from Southern Charm transition scenes.
Places to eat & drink in Charleston

Republic Garden & Lounge
Owned by Southern Hospitality star Leva Bonaparte and her husband Lamar Bonaparte, Republic is Charleston’s most recognizable nightlife spot. Also serves as the backdrop for much of Southern Hospitality’s drama, parties, and cast interactions. Expect DJs, bottle-service energy, and a party that goes late into the night.
Bourbon N’ Bubbles
Also owned by Leva Bonaparte and her business partners, Bourbon N’ Bubbles brings an upscale champagne-and-cocktails atmosphere to King Street. Bourbon N’ Bubbles delivers exactly the kind of upscale-but-playful energy reality TV fans expect from a Charleston night out. The velvet seating, cocktails, and late-night crowd make it feel like a scene waiting to happen. If you need a cocktail recommendation, go for the Charleston 75 and the King Bee. You’re welcome.
Mesu
Another Bonaparte hospitality concept. Mesu is a Mexican and Japanese infusion dining experience. The restaurant has appeared within the Bravo universe on Southern Hospitality. It is intimate and more laidback.
Lamar’s Sporting Club
I know, I know. The Bonapartes own King Street. No, seriously, Lamar’s Sporting Club has been featured on Southern Hospitality and is part of Leva and Lamar Bonaparte’s hospitality group. Lamar's blends sexy sports-bar energy with Charleston’s nightlife culture. You’ll find craft cocktails, sleek interiors, and a more social atmosphere than a traditional sports bar.
By The Way
This is the Charleston we want you to experience. This spot is co-owned by Southern Charm cast members Craig Conover and Austen Kroll. It’s a neighborhood cocktail lounge, and you’re sure to run into other Bravo fans. For food, order the French Martini with the smash burger. Chef’s kiss!
Uptown Social
A King Street staple featured across Charleston’s reality TV. With roots in New York, Uptown Social blends sports-bar energy with rooftop nightlife. The menu is curated by the iconic Anthony Falco, a Brooklyn legend. Yes, the pizza is a must. It’s casual enough for daytime drinks but turns into a social hub after dark, especially on weekends. Pick your vibe.
The Commodore
Not only is this an iconic Charleston nightclub and live music venue, but it has also been featured on Southern Charm. Make sure this is a stop on your list. Check their website to see who’s playing.
