Its rich German heritage, natural beauty, and the allure of its wineries and vineyards make it a perfect escape for wine enthusiasts from around the country. Beyond its wineries and vineyards, Fredericksburg offers a diverse range of outdoor activities. Grapetown Vineyard is a haven for those seeking diverse experiences. Kalasi Cellars
Kalasi Cellars is not just a vineyard—it’s a testament to women’s empowerment. This woman-led vineyard, wine bar, and event venue, nestled in the heart of Texas wine country, is a must-visit. Six Twists Sparkling
Six Twists is the first sparkling wine experience in Texas. Their team has curated the most exciting bubbles from around the world. They offer wines by the glass, light pairing bites, private tastings, educational events, and more!
Oktoberfest
Every year in early October, Fredericksburg comes alive with the vibrant spirit of Oktoberfest. The big tents on Marktplatz host three days of fun-filled German traditions, including music, games, and a delightful array of food and drink.
Wildseed Farms
Visit the 200-acre wildflower farm and vineyard, including a half-mile walking trail and gardens. Taste their estate grapes, featured in their award-winning wines, in the on-site tasting room or grab a cold beer in the Brewbonnet. Spend the day on the farm and shop for gifts, seeds, plants, and more!
Vogel Orchard
Starting in September for the fall season, Vogel Orchard hosts a Pumpkin Patch and Fall Store.
Jenschke Orchards
For a fun-filled family day, head to Vogel Orchard in the fall. They boast one of the best corn mazes in Texas, a vibrant pumpkin patch, farm animals, live music, and more. Don’t miss their on-site tasting room and restaurant for a delicious meal.
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is a breathtaking gem in the Texas Hill Country. Its massive pink granite dome, towering 425 feet above the landscape, is a sight to behold. The park offers a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, rock climbing, and stargazing. With several trails of varying difficulty, it’s a paradise for nature enthusiasts.
One of the most popular hikes leads to the summit of Enchanted Rock, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys.

Piccolina: At Piccolina, they are passionate about handcrafted Italian ice made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients from the Texas Hill Country. It is also friendly to those with dietary preferences—dairy-free, gluten-free, fat-free, and free of ingredients you can’t pronounce.
Oro Bianco Italian Creamery: Home to the first and only water buffalo dairy and creamery in Texas. Their unique production process utilizes milk from their 100% grass-fed herd of water buffalo to craft small-batch gelato and other dairy products, promising a taste of true innovation.
Das Peach Haus & Dietz Distillery: On-site, you will find tranquil landscapes, a winery and distillery, orchards, and, of course, gourmet shopping options. They even offer on-site cooking classes and a choice of a chef’s private dinner.
Need to know
Spring is the best time to go! The weather is warm, but not overly hot, and everything is in bloom, not to mention the world-famous bluebonnets that the Texas Hill Country is known for. Tourists flock here for a reason: the beautiful countryside, picturesque photo opportunities, and pleasant weather.
