Things to do in New York City

Iconic Brooklyn Bridge photo spot in DUMBO!

  1. Broadway play: We were able to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the illusions and special effects were amazing.

  2. Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall: This was a classic Christmas experience!

  3. Top of the Rock: This observation deck has a great view of Manhattan and the Empire State Building.

  4. Empire State Building observation deck at night: This was a totally different observation deck experience! Seeing all the lights was amazing.

  5. Ferry to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island: The ferry was a quintessential NYC experience with great photo ops of both the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline.

  6. DUMBO: This was one of our favorite areas! You can see both the Manhattan Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge and grab a coffee and pastry to enjoy the scenery.

  7. 5th Avenue window shopping and lights: It is so fun to see all the creative lights and decorations.

  8. Central Park pedicab tour: This was an awesome way to see all of Central Park!

  9. Summit One Vanderbilt: An observation deck with some fun experiences!

  10. Hudson Yards: A great and unique free Christmas light experience!

Places to eat & drink in New York City

Dinner at Olio E Piu

  1. Los Tacos No. 1—a great quick place to grab lunch!

  2. Olio E Piu—yes, the carbonara is that good!

  3. Stone Street Tavern—a great place to grab lunch or dinner near the financial district.

  4. Liberty Bagels—quintessential NY bagel with lots of choices.

  5. Joes Pizza—great pizza with multiple locations!

  6. Serendipity Frozen Hot Chocolate—touristy spot, but it was great!

  7. Au Cheval—a great spot for dinner! Recommend reservations

  8. Rita’s in Hells Kitchen—easy place to grab nachos and drinks near Times Square!

  9. Lillie’s Victorian—an awesome Christmas-themed restaurant and bar!

  10. 7th Street Burger—a great burger and cheap!

Need to know

The subway is a great way to get around without blowing your budget. Use your Apple Maps public transportation feature to find the exact places to get on and off! You can also take the Q70 bus to the subway station from LaGuardia, which saves money. The Uber shuttle is also cheaper to and from the airport!
