Things to do in Thailand

Old Town Phuket
Island hopping was my absolute favorite. I wanted to be in the water as much as possible, and each island had its own magic. The Similan Islands were the most stunning I’ve ever seen—the water looked almost unreal, like it had been photoshopped in real life.
Spending time at Bukit Elephant Park was something I’ll never forget. It’s an ethical sanctuary, so there’s no riding, just feeding, bathing, and learning about the elephants in a way that respects them. It was both humbling and heartwarming.
And then there were the indulgent moments—scalp massages, full-body massages, spa treatments—all so relaxing and surprisingly affordable.
I loved wandering Old Town Phuket with its colorful buildings, street art, and the Sunday Market, where I did all my shopping.
Places to eat & drink in Thailand

Most delicious pizza with the kindest people!
If you want to experience Thailand through its food, start with the night markets—they’re lively, full of local flavor, and an adventure in themselves. Ao Nang Night Market was my personal favorite for both the variety and the atmosphere. I could’ve stayed there for hours trying dish after dish, chatting with vendors, and people-watching.
For something unexpected, Gourmet Pizza by Crust in Phuket is a must. It’s Michelin Plate-awarded four years in a row, and honestly, I never thought I’d go to Thailand for pizza, but it was unforgettable—some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten.
Three Monkeys Restaurant is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. It’s surrounded by lush greenery and almost feels like you’re in a jungle treehouse. Perched above the trees, the views are beautiful, the vibes are perfect for sunset, and the menu has something for everyone.
In Phuket, I also found The Hidden Café, a quiet, cozy spot that felt like a little retreat from the world.
One Chun Café & Restaurant, also in Phuket, has earned Michelin recognition for a reason. The flavors are bold and authentic, and it’s a great way to dive into local cuisine. If you’re looking for something upscale, Kata Rocks offers a luxury dining experience with ocean views that are straight out of a postcard.
And for a sweet treat, Tory’s Ice Cream is worth the stop—creamy, refreshing, and beloved by locals and visitors alike.
Need to know
Don’t let the weather fool you. Even in the dry season, you might get a sudden burst of rain, but it often clears up quickly—sometimes the sun comes out five minutes later. It’s actually a perfect winter escape since the dry season coincides with colder months elsewhere.
If you’re visiting temples, dress respectfully—cover your shoulders and legs. For elephant sanctuaries, choose ethical ones like Bukit Elephant Park, where the focus is on care and conservation, not entertainment.
Getting around is easy with the 12Go app, which helps you book taxis, ferries, and other transport seamlessly.
Most importantly, take it slow. Thailand is best enjoyed without rushing—wander the markets, sip your coffee, watch the sunset over the water. The beauty is in both the big adventures and the quiet moments.
