Advisor - Virgin Voyages Cruise Review: Ship Life, Ports, and Insider Tips
Curator’s statement

Sailing with Virgin Voyages was more than just a vacation—it was a chance to truly unwind, explore beautiful destinations like Bimini, and enjoy a fresh, adults-only take on cruising. From spontaneous dance classes to spa days and sunset yoga on the beach, every moment felt intentional and indulgent. I loved the freedom to do everything—or nothing at all—and the vibrant, modern vibe of the ship made it all feel effortlessly fun. This trip reminded me how powerful it is to pause, play, and reconnect.

Things to do

Finding my zen at sea in the thermal spa’s signature window sauna.

My favorite things to do on a Virgin Voyages cruise

1. Rent a golf cart in Bimini
One of the best ways to explore the island. We cruised past stunning beaches, stopped for fresh conch salad, and got a real sense of the local vibe.

2. Yoga on the beach
Doing yoga with my toes in the sand and the ocean breeze in my hair was such a peaceful way to start the day—even if the sand and sweat combo wasn't exactly glamorous!

3. Unwind in the thermal spa
The spa circuit was heaven—between the saunas, cold plunge, and mud room, I left feeling totally refreshed and relaxed.

4. Dinner at Gumbae (Korean BBQ)
I wasn’t sure about the communal seating at first, but it ended up being one of the most fun dinners of the trip. Great food, great company, and a few shots of soju didn’t hurt either.

5. Catch a show in the Red Room
Virgin does entertainment differently—edgy, inclusive, and full of personality. "Around the World with Diva" was a trip!

6. Take a dance class
We tried salsa and had a blast laughing through the steps. It’s a fun way to move and meet people without taking yourself too seriously.

7. Linger over sunset cocktails
There’s something magical about watching the sun go down at sea with a drink in hand and no plans but dinner.

8. Try every restaurant
Each spot had a different vibe, and it was fun to sample them all. Even the places that weren’t my favorites still felt like part of the experience.

9. Explore the ship at night
The ship really comes alive after dark with music, pop-up performances, and spontaneous moments of fun.

10. Nap in a net hammock
Simple but perfect. Just the sound of the sea and a soft breeze while you recharge—it doesn’t get better than that.

Places to eat & drink

Dining meets science at The Test Kitchen—each course a delicious experiment in creativity

  • Gumbae
Korean BBQ at sea! It’s lively, interactive, and fun—especially with their surprise drinking games. I loved the grilled meats and group energy.

  • The Wake
If you’re in the mood for a classic steakhouse vibe with a twist, this is the spot. Brunch here was also a standout—the view, the service, and the crab benedict were top-tier.

  • Razzle Dazzle
A playful, veggie-forward restaurant with creative dishes and a fun atmosphere. Don’t miss the "naughty menu"—yes, that’s a real thing.

  • Extra Virgin
Italian food with a modern touch. It wasn’t my favorite overall, but the homemade pasta was still worth trying, especially the truffle tagliatelle.

  • The Dock House
Perfect for a relaxed, Mediterranean-inspired bite. I loved the mezze-style plates and grilled seafood, especially with a glass of rosé in hand.

  • Pink Agave
Bold Mexican flavors in a moody, stylish setting. The tacos and mezcal cocktails were a hit.

  • The Galley
Virgin’s answer to the traditional buffet—this food hall-style setup has something for everyone, from sushi to ramen to all-day breakfast. Great for a quick bite!

  • Sip Lounge
The place for bubbles and people-watching. Champagne in hand, live music in the background—what more could you want?

  • The Grounds Club
A must for coffee lovers. Great espresso drinks and cozy spots to sit and plan the day or wind down.

  • On deck with a drink
Honestly, some of the best moments were grabbing a cocktail at one of the outdoor bars and just soaking in the sea views.

Need to know

Virgin Voyages is not your typical cruise—it’s adults-only, refreshingly modern, and packed with thoughtful inclusions like Wi-Fi, all dining, gratuities, and group fitness classes. Don’t overpack—dress is relaxed and stylish, not formal, and you'll want room in your suitcase for comfy clothes and a few fun outfits for theme nights. Be sure to book dining, shows, and spa treatments in the Virgin Voyages app as soon as you're able to—things fill up fast! Most importantly, come with an open mind and a sense of adventure. Whether you're traveling solo, with a partner, or in a group, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
