Things to do in London

One of the best ways to visit a lot of the historic and cultural landmarks that London has to offer, is by booking your own private black cab tour. Your personal driver will pick you up from a location in London and take you to some of the most iconic spots. Your tour guide has a wealth of knowledge of the city and its rich history. This tour lasts typically about four hours and includes several stops along the way for photo opportunities or to just admire the history. Our tour guide managed to get us front and center during the final few minutes of the Changing of the Guard!
If you've been a London regular and have seen much of the historical sites, I recommend an iconic walking tour. My husband and I took part in "Tastes, Tales and Traditional Ales". This small-group tour will take you to some of the most historic pubs in London with hundreds of years of history. Many of the pubs might be hard to find, even for locals! At each pub, you'll learn more about British pub culture and some of the legendary people who frequented these pubs. All while having a beer that is paired perfectly with some traditional British fare.
In my personal opinion, no trip to London is complete without at least one visit to Borough Market. This incredible food and vendor market began in the 1700s and takes place under the London Bridge. Make sure you visit with an appetite because there is such a wide range of food from Britain and all over the world! Grab a drink from one of the vendors and stroll through this beautiful market. It attracts locals and tourists alike!
A visit to the London Eye is also a spectacular way to view the city from the sky! If you have a good understanding of when you might like to do this, I suggest booking a "skip the line" ticket so you can get your trip going sooner.
Need to know
If you are on a layover at London Heathrow, and have a tight layover, I recommended our partners at Gilded Globe. This concierge service takes care of everything from your flights touchdown to wheels-up. They track your flights for you and create the most efficient and effective way to get from Point A to Point B.
