Curator’s statement
Sedona is my favorite go-to for a girls’ weekend—I’ve been four times and still can’t get enough. With its stunning red rock hikes, star-filled skies, and calming energy vortexes, it’s the perfect place to reconnect with nature and your feminine side. We always stay in the cutest desert-inspired hotels and make time for sunset views and delicious Mexican food with a view. Sedona feels both grounding and magical—and I already can’t wait to go back again next year.

Things to do in Sedona

Devil's Bridge hike
Hike to Devil’s Bridge
This hike is equal parts thrilling and gorgeous, with just the right amount of “Are we seriously doing this?!” The trail leads to a natural sandstone arch with zero guardrails and maximum adrenaline. I made it to the top (yes, I crossed the bridge) and was so hyped that I busted out a little trail dance right there on the dirt. 10/10—would risk the drop again.
Birthing Cave & energy vortex vibes
The Birthing Cave is not just a cool name—it’s a whole experience. You scramble up into this massive, womb-shaped cave and sit in complete stillness, channeling your inner goddess while trying not to slip off the ledge. I legit felt like I was being reborn (or maybe that was the dehydration?). Either way, meditation here hits different.
Sunset at Sedona Airport scenic lookout
This is the sunset spot—just you, the glow of the golden hour, and a crowd of people who all had the same idea. But honestly? Worth it. Watching the red rocks light up like they’re on fire as the sun dips below the horizon is pure magic. Bonus points if you bring snacks and pretend it’s your own VIP rooftop lounge.
Seven Sacred Pools hike
This trail is like stumbling into a desert fairy-tale. The Seven Sacred Pools are natural water basins carved into the rock, and depending on the season, they range from full and reflective to mostly spiritual. I also low-key loved learning how the layers of red rock were formed over millions of years—it’s like the Earth’s version of a glow-up.
Splash around at Slide Rock
Slide Rock is basically nature’s water park, minus the chlorine and screaming children. The smooth red rock creates a natural slide, and while you will get your butt mildly bruised, you’ll also have the time of your life. I went in expecting a cute wade and left soaked, laughing, and feeling 12 years old again.
Art shopping at Tlaquepaque
Tlaquepaque (pronounced Tuh-la-keh-pah-keh—you're welcome) is a dreamy, Spanish-style arts village that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a boho Pinterest board. The galleries are full of local gems, from desert-inspired jewelry to cactus paintings I didn’t know I needed. I may have dropped too much money here, but consider it retail therapy with a spiritual twist.
Places to eat & drink in Sedona

Juices from the Local Juicery
Local Juicery
This is my go-to spot after a long hike when my legs are jelly and my body is begging for nutrients. Local Juicery serves up fresh, vibrant smoothies and cold-pressed juices that taste like health in a cup—but in a really good way. Their protein-packed blends are perfect for refueling, and if you’re feeling bold, take a ginger shot. (Yes, I got full-body chills, and yes, I’d do it again.)
Hideaway House
If you’re looking for a meal with a view, Hideaway House is where it’s at. Perched above the red rocks, this cozy American eatery serves comfort food with a side of sunset. Their burgers are juicy, the vibes are relaxed, and the views are straight out of a painting. Just make sure you show up early—this place is always packed, and for good reason.
Elote Café
One word: legendary. Elote Café is a Sedona staple for elevated Mexican cuisine with bold flavors and a refined twist. From street corn that melts in your mouth to creative takes on traditional dishes, every bite is a flavor explosion. It’s one of those spots that feels special but still totally unpretentious—just come hungry and maybe make a reservation if you can.
Tortas de Fuego
This hole-in-the-wall spot might not look fancy, but the food? Next-level. Tortas de Fuego dishes out some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had—period. The enchiladas are cheesy perfection, the portions are massive, and the green sauce is so good I considered bottling it to take home. Affordable, authentic, and totally satisfying.
Coffee Pot Restaurant
Coffee Pot is a local favorite for breakfast and brunch, but my personal highlight? Their chilaquiles. I’ve tried (and disliked) many versions before, but these hit just right—savory, crispy, and topped with just the right amount of spice. It’s a great spot to start your day before heading out for more Sedona adventures (or a nap, let’s be real).
Need to know
Sedona may be magical, but she’s also hot, especially in the warmer months—so plan your hikes for early morning or golden hour evenings. Trust me, you’ll thank yourself later. The afternoons are best reserved for napping, journaling, or lounging at your hotel with a cold drink and desert views. If you’re hiking (which you definitely should be), bring way more water than you think you’ll need—the dry heat sneaks up on you fast.
For stargazing lovers, Sedona is a certified Dark Sky City, which means the night skies are incredible. Download a stargazing app and check out local astronomy groups—some offer events with telescopes and expert guides to help you find everything from Saturn’s rings to galaxies far, far away.
Above all, remember: this isn’t a “go-go-go” destination. Sedona invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and really tune in. Don’t overplan. Let the red rocks do their thing, and make space to just be.
