Day Trips
The Hoover Dam is just about 35 miles from Las Vegas. This immense structure is nearing its 100th birthday, and is one of the great feats of structural engineering in the world.
If you desire a full-day road trip, the Grand Canyon is within driving distance of Las Vegas. The cliché" “pictures don’t do it justice” is a massive understatement for the majesty of this natural wonder. There are many bus tour options leaving from Las Vegas if you don’t want to drive yourself.
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is just under 20 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. It is a great place to take a break from the action for a scenic drive or to explore one of the many hiking or biking trails.
Places to eat & drink in Las Vegas

Celebrity Chefs
A restaurant connected to a celebrity chef can be found in almost every hotel in Las Vegas. There are a few that truly stand out as being worthy of their namesakes. Try exotic dishes you won’t find at your local steakhouse at Bazaar Meat by José Andrés. Some of the most delicious seafood you will ever eat can be found in the Bellagio at Michael Mina. There is an endless number of steakhouses in Las Vegas, but Gordon Ramsay Steak truly stands out in a crowded field with the chef’s signature perfection. Taste the fresh flavors of the Italian coast at Bobby Flay’s Amalfi.
Fine Dining
The highest of high cuisine can be enjoyed in Las Vegas. Joël Robuchon is the only restaurant in Las Vegas to earn three Michelin stars with its classic French tasting menus in an opulent setting. Visual and edible art find their pairing at Picasso in the Bellagio.
Supper Clubs
Take a step back in time to when dinner and a show were one singular experience. Las Vegas has two restaurants where the tableside entertainment is as delicious as the food on the table. Delilah can be found in the Wynn and The Mayfair Supper Club in the Bellagio.
Fun, Affordable Meals
Food in Las Vegas can be expensive. Reasonably priced, and incredibly delicious Chinese dumplings, buns and soups can be devoured at Tim Ho Wan. You’ll find fantastic hot dogs, fries and prices at Dirt Dog. The Park MGM offers two excellent restaurant choices for food value. They are the Chef Truck, where you can step into Jon Favreau’s movie Chef, and the many offerings at various price points at Eataly!
