Advisor - London for Three Generations: An Accessible, Family-Friendly 5-Day Itinerary
Curator’s statement

This was no ordinary trip—it was an unforgettable adventure when three generations of women from one family decided to travel together, the youngest being a teenager. My goal was to facilitate the trip of a lifetime with unforgettable core memories while balancing comfort, elegance, excitement, and seamlessly weaving in accessibility for the senior. London revealed itself as both grand and intimate, and this family-friendly itinerary reflects the bespoke journey I created for them.

Day 1: Arrival

Sunset on the Thames

I pre-arranged wheelchair assistance at Heathrow—truly one of Europe’s most thoughtfully accessible airports, with smooth pathways, helpful staff, and priority queues that my clients raved about. Their private car was waiting as they exited, ready to whisk them to their hotel while handling luggage and mobility aids seamlessly. The first day was all about settling in, resting. They enjoyed a quiet evening walk along the river, watching the city light up as the sun set over the Thames. And of course you can’t come to London and miss a pub! Dinner was reserved at a cozy, wheelchair-accessible pub known for its classic British dishes, hearty pies, and, naturally, a proper pint of beer.

Day 2: Private city tour & bookshop discoveries

A classic London moment

When I design a private city tour like this, I love weaving in layers that make the experience deeply personal. I arranged an exclusive private chauffeured black cab tour, curated as a guided journey through London’s iconic landmarks: St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, and more. Their black cab wasn’t just transport—it was a comfortable, thoughtful way to explore London, with hand-picked stops that brought the city’s stories to life.

My personal favorite moment was the literary trail my client chose to explore—wandering from the historic Hatchards to hidden bookshops tucked into alleyways. They even made a pilgrimage to 221B Baker Street for a photo in front of Sherlock Holmes’ legendary door—a delight for the teen and a wink to literary tradition.

Ask me about arranging a private browsing session or securing access to an exclusive book reading.

Day 3: Tower of London & tea

The Tower of London: timeless history, up close

Viewing of the Crown Jewels was high on my client’s wish list, so the day began with a fully tailored immersion into London’s history at the Tower of London. I secured priority access and mapped a step-free route, ensuring every view was accessible—all quietly handled so the family could focus on the experience, not the logistics.

Their afternoon surprise was an elegant tea at The Langham—a nod to Lady Whistledown herself. The hotel arranged a beautifully set table and customized the menu to reflect dietary preferences, blending playful Regency charm with impeccable hospitality.

Day 4: Royal Observatory

London skyline, viewed from the Royal Observatory

For a change of pace—and to delight the teenager’s love of science—I arranged a private accessible transfer to Greenwich for a day at the Royal Observatory and Planetarium. They attended an unforgettable show at the planetarium that made the stars approachable for all ages, and explored exhibits at their own rhythm.

Insider tip: The planetarium also offers sensory-friendly performances—a detail I always confirm for guests who’d appreciate a gentler show.

Day 5: Harry Potter Studio tour & farewell dinner

The Harry Potter Studio Tour: behind-the-scenes storytelling brought to life

For the grand finale and final day in London, I planned a day immersed in magic at the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio. I pre-booked a complimentary wheelchair and secured a caregiver ticket, ensuring seamless, magical exploration from Diagon Alley to the Great Hall. Every set felt like stepping into the films, with staff sharing fun behind-the-scenes insights and arranging spontaneous photo moments. Their farewell dinner was at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Mayfair, where I reserved an accessible table and worked closely with the chef, who was delighted to craft a menu aligned with their dietary preferences—a celebratory finale to an unforgettable London journey.

Insider tip: London is home to over 70 Michelin-starred restaurants— I can arrange bespoke gourmet dining experiences for the discerning food connoisseurs.

Need to know

This journey was a beautiful reminder that age is just a number and that accessibility or special needs should never stand in the way of experiencing the world.
