Touring Bimini, Bahamas by golf cart is a popular and fun way to explore the island. Bimini is a small island, so it's easy to get around by golf cart. Renting a golf cart is super simple and there are several rental companies available on the island. I visited the island on a cruise, and it was a perfect way to spend the afternoon!

Things to do in Bimini, Bahamas

With a golf cart, you can explore the island at your own pace and stop wherever you want. We took a scenic drive along the coastline and stopped at several places along the way:

  • Dolphin House Museum - The Dolphin House Museum is located in Bailey Town and is dedicated to the life and work of local artist, Ashley Saunders. The museum showcases his unique creations, including a house made entirely of recycled materials and adorned with beautiful mosaics. Even if you don't go inside, it's a unique place to visit and take pictures.

  • My favorite stop was at the Gallant Lady shipwreck located on the southern end of the rocky shore of North Bimini. Looking at the shipwreck you can almost hear some of the stories she tells. Legend says the ship smashed up against the shore in 1997 during Hurricane Mitch. The rusty skeleton of the small freighter is slowing being destroyed by the relentless waves. If you are here at the right time, it's the perfect place to catch a sunset!

When touring Bimini by golf cart, it's important to remember to drive safely and follow the local traffic rules. Always drive slowly, especially on narrow roads or near pedestrians. You should also be aware that the roads on Bimini can be bumpy and uneven, so be prepared for a bit of a rough ride.

Overall, touring Bimini by golf cart is a great way to explore the island and experience the local culture. Just be sure to plan ahead, drive safely, and enjoy your adventure!

Located in Alice Town, the Bimini Bread Company is a popular bakery that specializes in homemade Bahamian bread. They offer a variety of flavors including coconut, cinnamon raisin, and guava. I can't tell you how good it smelled!

There are several Conch Shack restaurants that you will pass while exploring the island. Most serve up delicious dishes including conch salad, conch fritters, and conch chowder. We passed a few located in Bailey Town and if you are hungry, they would be a great place to grab a bite to eat after exploring the Dolphin House Museum.
