Curator’s statement

I won't lie, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be intimidating. With four parks, 21 resorts and over 200 dining options to shift through, it's definitely quite the task! In this guide, I will help you narrow down one of my favorite parts of planning a trip and that's character dining. Character dining offers the chance to dine with beloved Disney characters, from Mickey, Minnie and the gang, to your favorite princesses to even Lilo & Stitch. It's truly an experience you won't want to miss.

EPCOT

Garden Grill - This unique all-you-care-to-enjoy character dining meal is a revolving restaurant that serves home-style country cooking, family-style. While you take in scenes from the Living with the Land ride below, Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale will come by to say hello!

*Breakfast: $42/per adult and $27/per child; Lunch & Dinner: $55/per adult and $36 per child (Ages 3-9) plus tax and gratuity.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall - Located in the Norway Pavilion of the World Showcase, Akershus is an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet set in a fourteenth-century Norwegian castle. This is a great option if you were unable to snag that hard-to-get reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table.

Disney's Hollywood Studios

Hollywood & Vine - Located in Echo Lake, Hollywood & Vine gives you a couple of different dining experience options. The breakfast all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet is a salute to those Disney Jr. favorites. Your kiddos will get to hang out with Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, Vampirina and Roadster Racer Goofy.

Disney's Animal Kingdom

Tusker House - Now if you love Donald Duck, this is the meal for you. Donald's Dining Safari is an all-you-care-to-enjoy safari feast served family-style for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Donald serves as your host along with Daisy, Goofy and the big cheese himself, Mickey!

*Breakfast: $42/per adult and $27/per child; Lunch & Dinner: $55/per adult and $36 per child (Ages 3-9) plus tax and gratuity.

Wilderness Lodge

Artist Point - This is a truly enchanted and unique character dining experience, because not only do you get to meet Snow White and Dopey, but it's the only dining opportunity to meet the EVIL Queen! (If your kiddos aren't ready to meet the Queen, they can easily skip this experience.)

*This is a price-fixed three-course dinner for $60/per adult and $39/per child (Ages 3-9) plus tax and gratuity.

Beach Club Resort

Cape May Cafe - For guests staying in the EPCOT area, this is a great option for breakfast before hitting the parks. Themed as a seaside picnic set in New England, Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast is an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet featuring Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck. Enjoy made-to-order omelets, Mickey & Minnie-shaped waffles and don't leave without trying the salted caramel "beach buns" served with vanilla ice cream (hey, you're on vacation after all.)

Polynesian Village Resort

Ohana - In my humble opinion, when it comes to character dining, 'Ohana takes the cake, and by cake, I mean their amazing pineapple-coconut breakfast bread. I'm serious, it's so good. You'll enjoy this American breakfast family-style while Lilo & Stitch make their rounds for photos and autographs. Mickey and Pluto are also known to make an appearance!

*Breakfast is $45/per adult and $29/per child (Ages 3-9) plus tax and gratuity.

Day Trips

Finally, I have one more character dining experience for you. Though technically it isn't located on Walt Disney World property, less than a mile down the road at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando, Ravello offers a good morning breakfast buffet with Goofy and his pals, every Thursday, Saturday, and select Tuesdays (11/21, 11/28, 12/19 and 12/26) in 2023.

*Reservations are required for the character breakfast, which can be made on OpenTable. $52/per adult and $32/child (Ages 3-12)
