Things to do in Courchevel

Six Senses spa

Skiing

Les Trois Vallées is massive, and hiring a local ski guide is one of the best ways to experience it. A guide helps you navigate seamlessly between Courchevel, Méribel, and Val Thorens, find the best snow conditions, avoid lift lines, and uncover hidden runs you’d never find on your own—perfect whether you want first tracks or a more relaxed ski day.

Dog sledding

A classic alpine experience through snow-covered forests and valleys. Glide through pristine scenery led by a team of huskies, with options ranging from short rides to longer excursions where you can even learn to drive the sled yourself.

Igloo building

A fun, hands-on activity that’s especially great for families and groups. Learn traditional techniques to build an igloo with expert guides—part adventure, part cultural experience, and totally unique.

Snowmobiling

Explore the mountains after hours on a guided snowmobile tour, often at sunset or in the evening. It’s an adrenaline-filled way to see a different side of the resort, with stunning views and access to remote areas.

Snowshoeing

A peaceful alternative to skiing that lets you slow down and take in the alpine landscape. Snowshoe trails wind through forests and open terrain, making this a great option for non-skiers or anyone looking for a scenic, low-impact outing

Spa

There are many luxurious spa experiences in Courchevel. Six Senses (my favorite) offers world-class treatments, indoor pools, saunas, steam rooms, and recovery therapies, ideal for post-ski relaxation or a full rest day.

Shopping

Courchevel 1850 is known for its luxury shopping, with boutiques from top fashion houses, fine jewelry brands, and high-end ski apparel. Even if you’re just browsing, it’s a fun après-ski activity and part of the Courchevel experience.

Places to eat & drink in Courchevel

Lunch at La Folie Douce

Lunch and apres-ski

  • Bagatelle Courchevel: High-energy scene, great food that turns into a party.

  • Le Cap Horn: Lively crowd. The escargot and truffle pizza are my favorite.

  • La Saulire: Classic, elegant French dining in the heart of 1850.

  • La Folie Douce: Legendary après-ski lunches that evolve into daytime parties with dance shows and live music.

  • La Soucoupe: Casual, fun, and quintessential Courchevel slope-side dining.

Dinner

  • Sumosan Courchevel: Stylish Japanese restaurant at Six Senses with contemporary sushi, signature dishes, and cocktails in a lively setting.

  • La Saulire: Classic, elegant French brasserie, centrally located in the center of town.

  • Le Tremplin: Casual, buzzy, great for a laid-back night.

  • Le 1947 (Cheval Blanc): 3-Michelin-star experience.

  • San Marco: Cozy Italian spot.

  • LouLou: One of the most popular, stylish-but-cozy dinner spots in town. Italian-leaning food with a lively alpine-chic vibe.

Need to know

  • Chambéry Airport (CMF): Closest airport, ~1–1.5 hours to Courchevel by road. Seasonal flights, mainly in ski season.

  • Geneva Airport (GVA): Most popular international choice with many flight options year-round, ~2.5–3 hours transfer.
