After my own career stopped feeling authentic, I took two and a half years to travel and reconnect with myself. That restorative journey taught me how transformative travel can be during life transitions. Honestly, everybody needs a Travis (and they don't even know it yet).
When I found Travis, it felt like a godsend. I was in the middle of a major divestiture at work, was juggling the kids' activities, and had a million things on my mind. All I could think was, how do I get this work done and still give my kids a trip they'd actually love? If it were just me, I'd have winged it. But this was a trip with my three kids, and winging it wasn't an option.
A friend I trust pointed me to Travis, and our first call sealed it. He asked such great questions and was such a great listener, and he really understood what mattered most to us. Then he thought of things I never would have, like setting up our airport transfers and activity pickups so every arrival was smooth. That kind of thing made the whole trip so much easier. This was our first time in Panama, and he planned the whole thing around my kids and what our family needed.
The beach day was one of the biggest highlights for us. A driver picked us up at the hotel, walked us through registration, and got us onto the ferry, and we had the best day. I would have never found that on my own. I wouldn't have known how to set it up, or even which beach to pick.
The hotel was so unique and full of culture. On my own, I never would have known to look for a place like that. It was right in the historic area, so the restaurants and everything else were a short walk away, and breakfast was included. My husband could even get some work done by the pool while the kids had fun. We did one fun thing each day and never felt over-scheduled, so we all got to actually relax.
Even now, I can't quite believe how it all came together. I accomplished everything I set off to accomplish on this trip. Every single thing. And more. And my family didn't pay the price for it. My kids are well-traveled and almost never ask to go back anywhere, but they can't stop talking about Panama. Even my husband, the biggest skeptic who didn't even want to come, came around completely. I told him, "we're not going anywhere without Travis ever."
If you're on the fence, take my honest advice: don't be on the fence. Just do it.
