My Story
A passionate globetrotter and cultural immersionist, I believe the most authentic way to understand a new place is to experience its heart through its cuisine. My extensive travels have taken me across the breadth of the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and deep into the diverse cultures and storied landscapes of Europe.
My journey is driven by a quest for genuine local flavor. I actively bypass the usual tourist traps, preferring to dive into regional specialties through hands-on experiences. Nothing excites me more than attending a local cooking class, savoring the nuances of a region during a dedicated wine tasting, or embarking on walking tours to discover the hidden local restaurants and beloved watering holes. For me, travel is a delicious, continuous learning process, making every meal an adventure and every glass a story about the place I’m in.
Travel Style
My travel style is rooted in the belief that the destination is something to be lived, not just observed.
I am an experiential traveler.
When I plan a trip, my focus is always on locating local gems—the hidden spots and neighborhood favorites that truly capture the spirit of a place. I’m the one who will ditch the crowded main square to wander down a side street, hoping to find the family-run eatery or the quiet park where locals gather. My goal is to feel the authentic pulse of the city or town, getting a genuine taste of daily life that few tourists ever find.
For accommodations, I consider where I stay part of the entire adventure. I skip the generic chains entirely, preferring to search for boutique hotels or unique guesthouses. I value character, thoughtful design, and personalized service—a beautiful hotel isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a stylish, intimate base camp that often reflects the local artistry itself.
Ultimately, I travel for unique experiences that build lasting memories. I’m not content just seeing a monument—I want to participate. This means I’ll sign up for that hands-on cooking class, spend an afternoon with a local artisan, or hike a trail that isn’t in any guidebook. These immersive moments—the conversations with locals, the mastery of a new skill, the unexpected discoveries—are the true currency of my journeys, ensuring that long after I return home, I carry rich, meaningful stories with me.
