Chasing Local

Our Story
Nomadic travel advisor and hospitality professional. My travel ethos is centered on client collaboration and chasing the local: always looking for opportunities to experience the best in local culture and cuisine. Learn more about travel planning with me at the link below under ‘stay connected’!
Travel Style
My travel style is culture-driven and locally focused, while always as relaxed and flexible. When I visit a place, I want to experience what a local resident would highlight, as if taking a close friend through their hometown. I love cultural exchange and challenging myself to learn along the way, while mainly working towards my next meal, coffee, or glass of wine! Most of all, I look to embrace travel as an opportunity to see myself and the world through a new lens, and return home again refreshed.

The best part about working with Steph was getting a trip that was curated to fit my personal travel preferences as well as genuinely capturing the local culture of where I stayed in ways I never could have on my own. After thorough and warm communication, Steph delivered a beautiful presentation on hotel, dining, and tourism selections that led to a trip I still dream of!

I had a choice between Stephanie and a couple other travel advisors. I went with Stephanie because she was quick with response times, detail oriented, kind in her messaging, and made sure to cater to my wife and I to have the best experience possible through booking with her. She is incredible and I highly recommend booking through her. 10/10 experience and will book with you again in the future.

Steph was very concise and clear and made everything much easier for me personally. She double checked everything, which is definitely not my strong suit. We had car services that were prompt and the rooms were all lovely!

Steph was great! Thank you so much for all the lovely correspondence and the helpful tips and insights into the city. It was great to have everything explained and thought out step-by-step so that my girlfriend and I could just enjoy our trip and spend less time planning and thinking. I've never used a travel agent before but this experience has really changed my mind and made me a believer! Thanks again Steph!!

Stephanie handled every step of this booking for me. I chose to work with her on this trip because I am in the middle of a very demanding schedule and she took care of all of the details so I could focus on my other priorities. She was extremely communicative and verified everything with the hotel so there would be no complications. She also secured me additional perks that I never would've thought of on my own. I'm already working with her on my next trip.

Chicago Athletic Association Hotel Site Inspection
For those of you who don't know Chicago well, right off the bat, the location is ideal for so many things: directly across from Millennium Park (the Bean, venue for many festivals and concerts, etc.) and a very short walk to the Art Institute, Grant Park, Michigan Avenue (shopping), the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, many city university campuses, River North and more. An historic building (its namesake,) and now managed by Hyatt, it has beautiful, well-restored, classic Chicago features and all the amenities and perks one would expect from a modern hotel. Located in this busy part of the city, the lobby is also one floor above street level (though there is a doorman there to greet and guide you) and the noise from the street was very well stifled.

Exploring Outdoor Art in Chicago
Yes, we go for the pizza, for the many sports teams, for Lollapalooza, taste of Chicago, and for the theater district; but did you know that Chicago is a city rich in art, and one of the best for free, accessible world-famous artworks? I mean, most of us who have been have already enjoyed the obligatory photoshoot at “The Bean!” Minutes away in the city’s downtown loop, you can also visit works by Chagall, Picasso, Calder, and more, all framed by this gorgeous cityscape. Whether you are an art aficionado or just love touring a city through a new lens, consider this guide to Chicago outdoor art for your next visit - without having to compromise on your pizza intake!

A Cocktail Lover's Guide to DC
Most coming to visit the nation’s capital are drawn here for its history and government, but what many do not realize is that DC also has a flourishing food and beverage industry that continues to win awards and draw new crowds. One notable example being the first cocktail competition reality show, Drink Masters, hosting two of DC’s finest cocktail bartenders, Kapri Robinson and the winner, Ultimate Drink Master, LP O’Brien! With international influences, a rich history in hospitality, and many happy hour networking events and business meetings, DC has cultivated a unique and thriving cocktail culture.
What I offer here is an essential guide to exploring DC’s thriving cocktail scene, organized by a few of the most bar-rich neighborhoods to explore. It is by no means all-inclusive, but exemplifies the dedication and creativity that DC offers through its drinks!
