My Story
A month after I was married (32 years ago), my husband and I arranged for a financial advisor to come to our home. He asked the most important question that would guide me for the next 32 years. "What would you like to do in retirement?" I had to really think about that because at such a young age, one doesn't typically think about ending a career just as we were starting ours. Later that evening, I told my husband I wanted to travel, extensively. He called the financial advisor back and told him there was a change of plans! And we have been saving for that goal together ever since. Actually, we started traveling earlier than anticipated and have taken our children along with us to many places. One of our daughters has already visited 6 continents, and the others are well on their way to see who can visit all 7 first!
My love of travel really starts in the planning phase. I usually end up making the travel plans for all my friends and family. I love organizing an itinerary full of their favorites with just enough activity versus downtime to fit them perfectly. I have just as much fun planning as I do actually visiting a new place.
Travel Style
My passion for travel, along with being a foodie, has really led me down some interesting paths. I would love to share my ability to find food at a Michelin-rated restaurant with the best view, while also providing those out-of-the-way places where locals go through "Dave's" living room to get to the back porch where Dave will cook his latest catch for you for lunch. I wish to immerse travelers in their food experiences (local catch, farm-to-table, cooking class, wine tastings, etc).
If you are looking for adventure over museums, I am your girl! Literally going off the beaten path, seeing the land or town via ATV, private driver, or even bicycle or horse might be better in some circumstances. I Scuba dive and fly airplanes and can walk clients through trips designed purely around Scuba or add air tours as well. I always plan plenty of downtime to relax at the beginning of a trip, and add a spa treatment into every adventure to replenish at the end.
If this sounds like your vibe, I would love to help plan your next adventure!
