Sequoia went above and beyond the plan my dream birthday girls trip. Not only did she find us the perfect hotel, but also booked us incredible experiences and dinner reservations, all while prioritizing indigenous and women-owned businesses. A local was extremely impressed we were able to score a reservation at Levadura de Olla. She thought of everything, giving us a head's up about when we'd need cash, sending us advice for how to navigate the Mexico City airport's confusing construction passages, and checking in periodically to make sure everything was going smoothly. The best!

Sequoia was super insightful and had excellent recommendations. She fully understood what we were looking for and knew exactly what we needed even when we didn't. Hot Vacations in January
These are three destinations I’d want to travel to in January because of their climate and what they can offer travelers. I attended a Mexican wedding at a hacienda outside of Mérida, ate some of the best tacos in Mérida centro and have driven around it enough to know that it’s truly a special part of Mexico.
I have some of my closest family friends in Dubai, and I imagine how nice it would be to see it in January when you can spend more time outdoors. I’d love to eat more incredible Yemeni or South Indian food. Some of my favorite meals have been in Dubai with friends.
Lombok is the kind of place that you want to keep visiting. I’ve been twice and am eager to return to these tranquil islands with such kind, warm people.

The Kansai region of Japan is like my second home. My mother's from Osaka and my childhood summers were spent visiting my grandparents and friends in this region. Each time I return, the sights and smells bring me back. In general, the energy of Kansai is a bit more relaxed than the Kanto region. There's an ease and sense of humor with locals. Whether you're interested in mountains and hot springs or the city and street food, Kansai has an array of options.

My first visit was truly magical. I go once a year if possible. I’ve been with my partner, my mother and my friend on different trips. I’d definitely recommend it for solo travel as well. You'll undoubtedly meet wonderful people regardless of who you travel with. Each time I visit I continue to meet the most inspiring and friendly people and have the best food. From street food to fine dining, it’s incredible. The ingredients, the care that’s taken with the land, its resources and the dishes is profound.
