We were going to Vancouver for a business meeting and reached out to our travel advisor Rick Lynn for some guidance on post meeting trips in N.W. Canada. Suggested Whistler or Rocky Mountaineer train trip from Vancouver to Banff. With this time frame being the last train thru the Canadian Rockies for the season we decided to take the Rocky Mountaineer train trip. Rick told us about the Silver service and Gold Service as options, we decided on the Gold service which is an elevated domed train car, with food service on the lower level.

Rick worked with Rocky Mountaineer on an all inclusive tour that was 6 days including Vancouver to Banff train for 2 days and tour days in Banff with drop off in Calgary at the end of the tour, including hotels. While the overall cost was a little steep, for what it included was relatively fair value. Rick handled all communication with Rocky Mountain on itinerary and delivery of travel documents.

The time with Rocky Mountaineer was seamless and first class. They have their own train station in Vancouver with easy check in and professional friendly staff. On the train had big windows and open dome for visual experience. The food in the restaurant downstairs was excellent with multiple first class options for both breakfasts and lunches. When we got to interim stop and in Banff, had us organized into buses or vans to our hotels and when we got to our rooms, luggage was there in the rooms.

Overall, first class trip with both Rocky Mountaineer and good service from Rick to make sure everything was done right. Would recommend both this type of trip to see area you would not normally see, riding the train and service throughout. Rick did a great job keeping us informed and communicating before and during the trip.

Richard was incredible attentive. We had another reservation that needed cancelling and he supported communication with them so I didn’t need to deal with it while on vacation. He also provided this option which exceeded our expectations. He listened to what we wanted and got more than we asked for below our budget! His status also allowed for personalized service and an upgraded room. I was so pleased. A single point of contact for all inclusive service.
