About
A former study abroad coordinator who loves helping other people plan trips (almost!) as much as I love planning and sharing my own.
Travel style
I love boutique hotels, restaurants and bars favored by locals, unusual walking tours, food and drink experiences, and unexpected gems. When I travel, bigger isn’t usually better. While “must sees” are fun, there’s always much more to a place. I enjoy a mix of both – while also having down time to sit and savor a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in a cafe and watch the world go by. I enjoy photography and look for beauty in unexpected places when I travel. This means, among other things, respecting local cultures and seeing the dignity and merit in everyday life. I love traveling to less visited places. I am a traveler at heart, a geographer by training, and compulsive about planning. I love putting all that together to help people create a wonderful trip, whether a short weekend getaway or the trip of a lifetime.

Working with Rachel really made our trip exceptional. She was knowledgeable, professional, and helpful throughout the process. I hadn't worked with an advisor in the past but it was great to have someone check in with me and keep me on track with planning and booking things!

Since this was our longest stay, we discussed hotel options with Rachel quite a bit. She was very responsive and provided us a number of options. We loved the idea of a kitchenette to make breakfast in and have quieter mornings. She was uncertain about the location, which was a little distant from most of the areas we wanted to explore around Kyoto, so gave us some tips for public transport and suggested some other things closer to this hotel once we decided on it. She was very helpful!
