For me, traveling is all about balance. I want to pack in as much sightseeing as possible, while also being flexible enough to take a luxurious nap on a beautiful beach. I love a detailed itinerary, but will always leave it open for spur-of-the-moment adventures (usually suggestions from the best tour guides and locals).

In my late teens and early twenties, I worked as an au-pair and lived in Spain, Italy and Ireland. During this time, I would use my weekends off to explore new cities and countries. Being on a limited budget, I would stay in hostels and book the cheapest flight possible, even if that meant multiple layovers or arriving in a foreign country at two o'clock in the morning. This sparked my passion for sharing travel hacks and budgeting tips with friends and family. I wanted everyone to be able to see what I was seeing and know that you didn't need to have a ton of money to do it. These days I've upgraded to boutique hotels and am willing to pay a little more for a direct flight, but my passion for travel hacking and making it more affordable for the masses remains.
