My Story
My journey into travel started at 17, when I flew to Thailand alone to teach English and math. That spark led to a career in international development—including a Master’s degree—and a decade of working alongside local communities in Nicaragua, Guyana, and Colombia. From building entrepreneurship capacity with the UNDP in Laos to working with businesses in Indonesia, I’ve spent my life learning how to navigate the world from the inside out—at times focusing on bespoke luxe experiences and at others, on-the-ground immersion.
I believe travel is the best way to mark life’s memorable moments. I’ve celebrated birthdays in Jamaica and Turks & Caicos, married my husband in Krabi, Thailand, and honeymooned in the Maldives. Having lived locally in Germany while my husband was stationed there, and spending significant time with family in Ontario, Canada, I bring a ‘local-first’ perspective to every itinerary. Travel Style
My travel philosophy is all about the ‘and.’ I love a structured city overview to get my bearings on and the flexibility to wander off the beaten path once I’ve found my feet. For me, the best trips happen when you balance a bird’s-eye view of a destination with the local, everyday moments—the quiet coffee shops, the neighborhood markets, and the spots where residents hang out. Whether it’s a tropical escape or a city stay, I aim for itineraries that feel seamless but leave plenty of room for spontaneous discovery.
I believe the best way to truly see a place is to live it. My style is a mix of high-level context and deep-dive immersion. I usually start a trip with a grand tour to understand the layout and history, then I pivot to an intentionally-paced, flexible exploration of the culture. I’m all about those ‘lived-in’ experiences—finding the hidden gems and local flavors that make a destination feel like home, ensuring every trip is as authentic as it is well-planned.
