My Story
I am a Viking Cruise expert and am passionate about destination travel. I have planned trips in over 30 countries on six continents, and I can help you plan your next adventure.
My Travel Style
I like to travel slow and local. I enjoy spending more time in one place than seeing multiple places. France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, and Mexico are places I’ve been to five or more times and have deep experience.

Mark was terrific to work with! He is knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, and attentive to detail. We loved the hotels he recommended we consider and we would definitely work with him again. Thanks, Mark!

Mark is making my travel life easier! This is my first booking with him, and I landed on the hotel and 3 of the 5 recommendations he provided. The only reason I didn’t visit more recs is simply because I didn’t have more time. I travel the globe and normally don’t think of using a travel agent, but Mark is now going to be first stop! He has great taste and I trust him. This service helped me relax even more. Thank you!

The unique Académie Hôtel Lyon was only one of the incredible living spaces that Mark Lammers discovered for my trip in Provence. The second was an apartment in the hillside village of Ségure. Although finding its address was a bit of a challenge, it was amazing! The second-floor apartment overlooked the Rhone valley and several villages between us the town of Orange about 20 kilometers in the distance; it was a beautiful sight both day and night. The price was modest, and it gave us a fully equipped kitchen, three bedrooms, two baths, a living/dining room, WiFi, tv, and the ability to play our own music throughout the apartment. We had reservations at the fine restaurants in this picturesque town.
The climax of my trip was Marseille, where Mark had again found a spectacular apartment, this one looking directly over the old harbor with floor-to-ceiling windows in the living/dining space. There was a kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom with the toilet in a separate room. The apartment was only a block away from the MuCEUM and conveniently located at a major public transportation stop. One of the highlights of the trip was the Culinary Backstreets tour Mark had booked for me. Not only was the tour guide well-versed in culinary matters, but she was able to answer many of the questions I had about the area.
To summarize, my trip in Provence was all that I had hoped for and more because of the extensive research Mark had done to prepare for it. It was truly a trip to remember!

Explore Turkey's Southwestern Turquoise Coast on a Gulet
The southwestern coast of Turkey is unspoiled by modern development. I had been to Turkey several times, but was drawn to this area after reading Louis de Bernières’ novel “Birds Without Wings” about the displacement of Greek-speaking people from the area in the 1920s. As a history buff, I was also drawn to the rich legacy of antiquities from the Lycian, Roman, and Selcuk eras. It is often called the Turquoise Coast because of the brilliant blue color that the water radiates, something I’d never seen anywhere else. The best way to experience this rugged coastline of secluded inlets, ancient ruins, and tiny fishing villages is aboard a “gulet,” a traditional Turkish yacht with two masts and 6–8 cabins. For a week I indulged my love of sunrise swims, Turkish hospitality, and relaxed into another world.

Cádiz: The Pearl of Spain's Atlantic Coast
Tucked alongside the southwestern coast of Spain, between the Atlantic and the jade-colored bay, the city of Cádiz rises luminously under a cerulean blue sky. Archeological evidence tells us that the city dates to the 8th century BC, making it the oldest continuously inhabited city in Western Europe. Today, it is one of the most beautiful cities in Andalucia, with miles of beautiful sand beaches and a beautifully preserved old town.

Gotland: A Medieval Island Getaway
Gotland is an island lost in time off the southeast coast of Sweden. It was once a center of power during the medieval Hanseatic League and home to pre-Viking Goths. Visby, Gotland’s primary city, is a well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage site, containing architecture dating back centuries. The countryside is littered with beautiful Gotland horses, black sheep, and Viking-era runic picture stones. A popular summer destination for Swedes, it is the combination of a distinguished historic destination with the laid-back vibe of a Swedish summer holiday.
