A typical Brooklynite – desperately trying to keep my plants alive while continually abandoning them on trips abroad. While at home, you can find me in a bookstore searching for the next Ferrante.
LGA for cross-country. JFK for across oceans. EWR as a last resort.
My travel style
I've found that I'm much more willing to really challenge myself during the day when I have the promise of a beautiful hotel and delicious Aperitivo to return to.
Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn
A Big Sur icon dating to the 1930s, set among the redwoods just off Route 1.
A seasonal hotel with a rustic feel located on a mountainous island in Sørvågen with a farm-to-table restaurant and cabins.
Refined chalet-style hotel from 1752 with grand rooms and suites offering mountain views.
Recently returned from:
Road tripping the South Island of New Zealand.
Watching the tennis in Melbourne at the Australian Open.
Chasing the Northern Lights in Swedish Lapland.
Trekking and skiing through the Swiss Alps.
The Faroe Islands.
Sailing the Nile.
One thing I can't travel without...
Two truths, one lie:
I excavated a Viking archaeological site in Denmark.
I hiked 100 miles through the Scottish Highlands in four and a half days.
I hitchhiked from Madrid to Seville.
