My Story
Mother and slow traveler based in Hawai'i. I believe longer stays in beautiful places (plus a bit of luxury) can be the healing balm for almost anything.
My Travel Style
I'm a former international educator and cultural anthropologist turned travel writer and beauty cultivator. Whether it's people watching from a park cafe in Lisbon or enjoying a whiskey and chocolate pairing on a cacao farm in Hawai'i, I enjoy taking my time and sinking deeply into the local rhythms of beautiful places. The perfect trip for me always includes destinations with a sea nearby, lots of natural beauty, good coffee, delicious local food and places where I can explore the rich cultural history. (Oh, and if there’s a local book store involved, even better!).

Iconic Elegance: High Tea in Hawai'i at The Moana Surfrider
I've long admired The Moana Surfrider Hotel for its rich history, iconic charm and serene experience that it offers its guests. It has always felt to me like a hidden oasis and a gateway to old Hawaii elegance right in the center of a now-bustling Waikiki. Affectionately referred to as the "First Lady of Waikiki," the Moana Surfrider has been hosting guests since 1901, and its High Tea experience feels like a beautiful homage to its historic legacy.
