Visiting Cincinnati for the first time felt like discovering a city I didn’t know I needed on my bucket list. From meeting local vendors at Findlay Market to grabbing drinks on rooftops like Rhinegeist, the city totally surprised me in the best way. There's a beautiful blend of old and new, with something for every type of traveler.

Montreal is perfect if you're looking for a little piece of Europe without leaving North America. The walkable city blends old-world charm with a modern vibe, and is packed with personality. Quebec is the original home of poutine, so you can expect a food scene that is next-level. I spent a week in Montreal and it definitely left me wanting more; it's one of those cities where you'll experience a ton but only scratch the surface of what it has to offer.

Tucked away in the 18th arrondissement, Montmartre is a truly special place. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and found the area incredibly easy to navigate. The neighborhood’s character is vibrant, welcoming and laid-back, making it a joy to explore at my own pace. Its unique mix of modern energy and old-world charm made every moment feel unforgettable.

The rumors are true — Lisbon is absolutely enchanting. From the moment you arrive, the city wraps you in a warm embrace, making you feel right at home. As a solo traveler, I was struck by how safe and comfortable I felt, even when venturing out at night. The locals’ hospitality is second to none, the cuisine is a feast for the senses and the city’s sights are truly unforgettable. One tip you’ll hear from every Lisbon visitor, and it’s worth repeating: pack your walking shoes and prepare for those iconic hills!

Losing track of time in charming Kensington is easy, with world-renowned museums and sprawling parks (be sure to bring your walking shoes!). This neighborhood felt unhurried and welcoming, while still offering something to do everywhere you turn. It's extremely walkable, but also conveniently located near several tube stations, making it easy to hop over to another area of the city. I barely scratched the surface during my five days in Kensington, and can't wait to go back!

A trip to the Capitol Region brings visitors from all over the world (over 25 million in 2023). Comprised of historic DC, charming Virginia and all the waterfront offerings of Maryland, this region truly has something for everyone. I was surprised at how easily the area is to navigate — you can easily pop over to a neighboring region or neighborhood via the metro. From historical sites to modern food halls, the DMV is a truly unique experience.

In September of 2023, I had the pleasure of indulging in a mid-week stay at Palihouse West Hollywood. Every step of my stay was met with an above-and-beyond experience from staff, thoughtfully designed spaces and one-of-a-kind treats (feat. a candy bar in the pool lounge!). I can't wait for my next visit!

In May of 2023, I had the opportunity to stay at the lovely Resident Victoria in London, England. While the original draw for this hotel was the central location, what really stood out was the stellar service from the staff. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone, and plan to visit again soon!

In March of 2024, I spent a week exploring Iceland, and Ion Adventure Hotel served as home base. Placed right between Nesjavellir Geothermal Power Station and Þingvellir National Park, you're immediately immersed in Iceland's culture upon arrival. The wonderful staff were so helpful, equipping us with coffee each morning before we left for that day's journey, and even providing a wake-up call so we wouldn't miss the Northern Lights. Every meal was thoughtfully created with sustainability in mind, and we found ourselves at the geothermal pool every evening.

In April of 2024, during a visit to Vancouver Island, I had the opportunity to stay at the Fairmont Empress, known as Canada's "Castle on the Coast." Situated right on the harbor and surrounded by hundreds of blooming tulips, this hotel is idyllic, to say the least. Every piece of the experience was so thoughtfully curated, including an exceptionally friendly staff, a world-class spa and even an exclusive Empress-inspired gin. If you're visiting Victoria, a stay at the Empress is a must!

In August of 2024, I had the pleasure of visiting Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel for a weekend getaway. Only an hour from San Diego, arriving in Jacumba feels worlds away. The staff were above and beyond friendly and knowledgable, which only added to the incredibly relaxing environment they've so carefully curated. I would absolutely recommend to adults-only travelers and cannot wait to visit again.

Just 45 minutes east of Iceland's Keflavik Airport, you'll find the capital city of Reykjavik. Upon arriving, you're met with warm hospitality, and a way of life driven by sustainability. Reykjavik is a very walkable city, as long as you dress according to the weather (always be ready for chilly wind and rain or snow). From museums to restaurants and music venues, all with the backdrop of beautiful snowcapped mountains, Reykjavik has something for everyone and is not to be missed!

Apart from the occasional "May Gray" or "June Gloom" as the locals call it, San Diego, California lives up to the 70 degrees and sunny hype. With the ocean to the west and mountains to the east, San Diego truly has every type of environment ready for those after an outdoor adventure. In the heart of the city, you'll find the historic Gaslamp Quarter, museums of Balboa Park and world-class dining. No matter which neighborhood you choose to explore, you'll find a unique take on food and entertainment. You simply can't go wrong!

Belize is a beautiful destination filled with warm hospitality, breathtaking views and delicious food. San Pedro is a perfect first stop, with plenty of parks, shopping and world-class snorkeling. Venturing over to Caye Caulker provides a more serene experience, with a laid back atmosphere but still lots to explore.
