My Travel Style
I consider myself a value savvy, luxury traveler. I’m all about getting the best and most luxurious experience possible at a price point that I’m comfortable with. While I love a gorgeous 5-star hotel, I’d trade a star to be able to afford a room with a stunning view any day. I also like a mix of readily-available activities combined with ample opportunities for relaxation and aim to plan trips that allow for both. For me, the best trips include a variety of experiences ranging from street food to high-end tasting menus and casual strolls through the neighborhood to world-class performances. I always suggest keeping some discretionary budget available so that you can indulge from time to time without feeling (too) guilty about it.
I’m a lifelong skier, watersports lover and recently certified scuba diver. As a kid, I remember all kinds of active family vacations where we would ski, windsurf, snorkel and one time even kitesurf. I learned to ski when I was 4 years old and consider Palisades Tahoe (then Squaw Valley) my home mountain. Over the past few decades, I’ve had the privilege of skiing at over a dozen resorts in North America with ski buddies who range from beginners to experts. I also finally overcame my fear of scuba diving and got certified in Bali last year – 60+ dives and counting!
I’d love to help you plan your next adventure sports vacation and share tips on some of my favorite places. FYI, while I love an active vacation, I feel strongly that it needs to be balanced with sufficient time and space for relaxation.
