I enjoy travel as a means of self-reflection and true leisure time; slowing down to enjoy the simple pleasures that each destination brings to get a sense of the culture and its people. For me, architecture is something that I really enjoy, so simply 'wandering' and really taking in the breathtaking beauty all around me is a wonderful use of time during my 'slow travel' time. Sleeping in a bit, luxuriating over a nice breakfast in the perfect hotel, setting myself up for a spectacular day. I typically schedule things like tickets to see live music at a 'local gem' venue, special museum exhibitions, off-the-beaten-path restaurants and cafes, as well as the most celebrated spots for libations and fine dining. As a mature and very experienced traveler, particularly in Europe, I enjoy noticing how a place ‘feels,’ allowing the location to reveal itself in an unhurried yet well-rounded itinerary for meaningful and authentic travel experiences.
