My Story

Travel has always been more than movement—it’s emotion, connection, and growth. My first actual trip was when I was seven years old and flew on an airplane by myself to see my grandma in Arizona. When I first set out to explore as an adult, I didn’t know it would change the direction of my life. I just knew I needed to see the world and learn how to make “me time” out of my busy work schedule. Over time, every destination taught me something new: patience, perspective, gratitude, and wonder. I travel because the world is full of stories waiting to be lived.

Each destination connects us in unexpected ways—whether it’s through a smile, a shared meal, or a breathtaking view. I’ve met so many incredible people throughout my journeys and had many amazing meals!

Travel humbles me. It reminds me of how diverse yet united humanity is. It resets my perspective and recharges my creativity. The more I travel, the more I realize: the best souvenirs are not things—they’re experiences. After years of exploring, I realized something: travelers needed a space that was equal parts inspiration and guidance. That’s how TravelBug Vacations was born—a travel brand created by a traveler, for travelers. I had the name/brand down, but I needed to separate myself from other influencers and continue to build a professional brand.

I didn’t want to be another faceless booking site. I wanted to build a community. One where every traveler—from luxury resort lovers to adventure seekers—could find the perfect destination, backed by personal insights, honest advice, and custom travel itineraries provided by me.

My company TravelBug Vacations is built around one idea: Your dream vacation shouldn’t feel out of reach—it should feel possible. “TravelBug Vacations” came from that unstoppable itch travelers know so well—once you’ve caught the travel bug, it never goes away.

The cheerful mascot, a cartoon bug with a backwards green hat, thumbs-up, and suitcase, represents everything this brand stands for: fun, curiosity, and wanderlust.

It’s a reminder that travel doesn’t have to be stressful. It should make you smile, laugh, and feel alive again. (And even sometimes, make mistake and learn from them). The mission behind TravelBug Vacations is simple—help travelers dream, plan, and experience the world with confidence.

Travel Style

I started out as a classic “once-a-year” traveler back in Nebraska, but everything changed when I moved to Phoenix and suddenly had an international airport at my doorstep. With Sky Harbor opening the world to me, my passion for travel took off. I found myself booking more trips, exploring new destinations, and rediscovering the thrill of being somewhere completely different.

For four years, I traveled solo—mostly through Mexico and around the United States—learning how to design trips that balance adventure, comfort, and great value. Those solo years taught me how to plan efficiently, move confidently, and curate experiences that feel intentional and unforgettable.

Then I met my best friend and now fiancé, who shares my love for sunshine and beach escapes. In our first year together, we took six vacations—proof that we believe in making time for joy no matter how busy life gets. She’s my “passenger princess,” trusting me to handle every detail from flights to accommodations to the little moments that make a trip special.

Today, that’s the same energy and care I bring to my work as a travel advisor. My travel style combines sun-soaked destinations (Mexico, the Caribbean, US beach cities), thoughtful, well-planned itineraries, a mix of relaxation, culture and hidden-gem experiences, and client-first recommendations rooted in real experience.
