My Story
A Virginia-based jetsetter who spends way too much time reading Condé Nast and planning future trip itineraries!
My Travel Style
I'm passionate about the intersection of luxury and adventure and finding places that allow people to experience both. My specialty is finding places where one feels like they are getting the best "bang for their buck" while in an ultra-luxe setting. I have a tendency to plan itineraries around food as well as destinations with vast options for unique day trips and excursions. An ideal hotel for me is one with a nice spa where I can totally unplug one day, but also within close proximity to experiences that allow me to immerse myself in local culture. I'm all about striking the balance between relaxation and activities.

Emma Sakakeeny went above and beyond as our travel agent. She secured us the best room possible, assisted with airport transportation, provided excellent restaurant recommendations, and even made us restaurant reservations prior to our arrival. It was obvious she had done her homework on the area. Even the hotel staff remarked on her excellent restaurant selections. I highly recommend Ms. Sakakeeny and will use her for future bookings.

Emma is incredible! Such a good recommendation for being in the heart of Paris but still getting the feel of a boutique hotel. She did wonderful, we can’t thank her enough!

This was an incredible recommendation from Emma! A true oasis in the middle of Reims. She booked our vineyard experiences and reservations to the tee as well!

How to Plan the Perfect Provence Trip
Provence is one of the most charming and idyllic regions of France. Think bike rides, walks through charming towns, rosé tastings, Provençal markets, fresh farm-to-table food and moody evenings. Something important to note is that this is definitely not a party place — it’s all about the slow country life here. This is a perfect destination for honeymooners or families wanting to get away from city life. It's only a two-hour direct train ride from Paris to Avignon, so it would be perfect to start your trip there. This would also be a great place to pair with a trip to the Riviera, since it’s only a couple of hours away from the coast.

An Insider’s Guide to Bordeaux’s Hidden Gems
Bordeaux was my husband and I’s first stop on our two-week South of France honeymoon and I couldn’t recommend it enough! Drinking wine in old Châteaus... what could be more romantic?! We were actually debating which wine region to go to (since there are SO many in France!) and were also considering Burgundy and the Loire Valley, but ended up choosing Bordeaux since we are red wine lovers — and it was truly out of a fairytale. We decided to stay in Saint-Émilion, a small charming town on the left bank and right in the heart of wine country, and are so happy that we chose to stay here vs. the actual city of Bordeaux which is farther away from the vineyards. We wanted to be in the middle of the action — we were even able to bike to a few spots!

Review of the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern: A Hotel for All Types of Travelers
In December 2022, I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Palace Luzern on my way to the Swiss Alps and it absolutely blew me away. Not only does this hotel provide various experiences for all types of travelers, but the staff's attention to detail was incredible. The property is perfect for nature lovers with its view of the Lake lined by the famous ginko biloba trees, adventure junkies with Mt. Pilatus nearby and easy access to the Swiss Alps, and history buffs with its ancient bridges and Medieval architecture. Perfect for a romantic getaway or family trip!
