I try to soak up as much of the local culture of a new place as I can with the time that I have there. One of my favorite ways to do that is through local cuisine. Most places I have been to, I value the time spent sharing a meal with friends, family and loved ones, which to me is such a beautiful expression of community. I thoroughly enjoy finding hole-in-the-wall or local, family-run establishments to go to. In my opinion, this is one of the best (and delicious) ways to understand and interact with a new culture. Every city or region I have traveled to takes such pride in their cuisine, and I think it’s important to try the local dishes to acquaint yourself with the flavors and products which make that place unique. As a big foodie and passionate traveler, I love to sprinkle in a few splurges on fine dining restaurants as well as luxury hotels and resorts to have a well-rounded experience.

Some of my favorite activities to do when visiting a new place are walking through the city admiring the architecture and historical landmarks, going to museums, attending concerts (especially of local music), going to local markets, hiking, beach activities, cooking classes and wine tastings. And just sitting at a cafe or restaurant to take in the life happening around me. I love to immerse myself in every new city or town I travel to and take things slow to truly appreciate what the culture is like there. I have always been known among my friends and family to be extroverted when it comes to meeting new people. This has allowed me to establish friendships and connections with so many wonderful people on my travels that I know will last for a very long time. Additionally, it is what sets me apart as a travel advisor to ensure my clients will have a truly unforgettable and bespoke experience no matter where in the world they are traveling to.
