Our Story
Twenty-three years in the hotel industry taught me how the machine actually works—which room is worth the upgrade, which property is flattering itself online, and how to get the things that don’t appear on any booking page. My partner Nick and I have taken that on the road: every Disney park in the world but Shanghai, eight Virgin Voyages sailings, Sydney eight times, Italy by rail, and more than sixty Christmas markets across Europe. Through In The Moment Journeys, I plan trips around the traveler, not the template. Tell me what you’re thinking about—even if it’s vague. Especially if it’s vague.
Travel Style
I don’t have a house style. You do—and my job is to find it. Some clients want a two-week European rail itinerary planned to the hour. Some want a Disney trip where nobody melts down in line at 2 p.m., which is a real skill and mostly Nick’s. Some want a Virgin sailing where the hardest decision is which restaurant tonight. We’ve done all three, personally, more than once. What every trip has in common is how it starts: a real conversation. Where you’ve loved, what you’d skip, who’s coming, and what you’re actually hoping this one gives you. Then I built it—using two decades of knowing hotels from the inside, and a fairly ridiculous amount of personal mileage. When you ask me a question, the answer comes from someone who’s been in the room.

Douglas planned my entire trip based on my preferences. It is wonderful to just show up to vacation and enjoy yourself without having to look ahead at a calendar and try to coordinate activities that fit your schedule and timeline without overlapping. Douglas also attended to all the small details which made my trip even more magical and memorable.
