Our Story
Some journeys begin with a destination. Mine began with a question.
What if luxury was never about status, but about meaning?
Carrying Italian roots and being shaped by experiences across cultures, I never followed a conventional path. Before travel, there was hospitality. Before hospitality, there was the kitchen. Before titles and partnerships, there was curiosity and academia.
For more than a decade, I immersed myself in some of the world’s most demanding hospitality environments, learning that true luxury is rarely found in marble lobbies, Michelin stars, or room categories. It is found in people who remember your name, anticipate your needs, and make you feel understood.
That philosophy would eventually become the foundation of my life’s work.
In 2025, I founded Altera Terra, not as a travel agency, but as a collective dedicated to the art of living well. A place where travel, culture, gastronomy, design, wellbeing, and human connection converge into something far more meaningful than a booking confirmation.
Today, Altera Terra serves a carefully curated circle of families, entrepreneurs, family offices, and individuals who understand that the greatest luxury is access—not simply access to places, but access to perspective, authenticity, and extraordinary people.
Along the way, there have been successes, failures, difficult conversations, and moments that tested my convictions. Yet each challenge reinforced a belief I hold more strongly today than ever before:
Integrity is not a marketing strategy.
Transparency is not a weakness.
Relationships matter more than transactions.
In an industry often obsessed with appearances, I have chosen to remain loyal to substance.
Because beautiful hotels will always exist.
Beautiful destinations will always exist.
But trust remains the rarest luxury of all.
This is not the story of a travel advisor.
It is the story of someone who believes that every journey—whether across continents or within ourselves—has the power to change who we become.
And for those drawn elsewhere, the journey is only just beginning.
Travel Style
Domenico Morelli’s travel style exists at the intersection of old-world hospitality values, cultural immersion, and modern luxury.
It is not defined by stars, brands, or price points—it is defined by feelings, memories, and emotions.
A journey designed by me is built on the belief that luxury should never feel manufactured but rather personalized to precision. The most memorable experiences are rarely the most expensive ones; they are the most authentic, personal, and emotionally resonant.
My approach combines the precision of a culinary expert, a luxury hotelier, the curiosity of an explorer, and the eye of a storyteller.
You are as likely to find yourself aboard a private yacht in the Mediterranean as you are sharing lunch with a local artisan, discovering a family-owned vineyard, or being introduced to a hidden cultural treasure that rarely appears in guidebooks.
My style favors:
• Character over trends.
• Relationships over transactions.
• Access over status.
• Authenticity over spectacle.
• Meaning over consumption.
A Domenico Morelli journey is meticulously orchestrated behind the scenes, allowing it to feel effortless in the moment. Every detail is intentional, yet nothing feels forced. My aesthetic is timeless but fashionable. Think heritage hotels, extraordinary private homes, iconic institutions, discreet luxury, meaningful encounters, exceptional gastronomy, and places that possess a genuine sense of soul.
Above all, my travel style is guided by a simple conviction:
Luxury is not about where you go.
It is about how deeply you experience it, who you share it with, and how it changes you when you return home.
For those drawn elsewhere, travel becomes more than movement.
It becomes a way of life.
Why Work With Me?
Over the course of my life, I have called 29 countries home. Not visited. Lived. Places where I learned how people gather around a table, how cities reveal themselves after midnight, how cultures express hospitality, and how a destination feels once the visitors have gone home.
That distinction matters.
In a world increasingly driven by algorithms, rankings, and interchangeable recommendations, I believe travel deserves something more human.
My career was not built behind a desk. It was built in hotel kitchens, luxury hotels, private guest experiences, and years spent understanding what truly separates service from hospitality. Long before Altera Terra existed, I was learning how details shape memories, how anticipation creates emotion, and how the smallest gestures often leave the deepest impression.
Today, that experience translates into a different way of designing travel.
I do not sell destinations. I curate journeys. I do not chase trends. I seek places, people, and experiences that resonate with who you are and how you wish to move through the world.
Every recommendation is informed by personal knowledge, trusted relationships, and a commitment to quality over quantity. Access matters, but judgment matters more. The right hotel is rarely the most expensive one. The right experience is rarely the one everyone else is doing.
Altera Terra was created for those who understand that luxury is not about being seen. It is about feeling understood.
Because the finest journeys are not measured by where you went, but by how deeply they stayed with you long after you returned home.

The Age of Intentional Wellbeing
There was a time when leisure was defined by absence: a brief departure from the demands of everyday life, measured in destinations, reservations, and days away. That definition no longer feels sufficient. A different way of travelling is emerging. One that asks not how far we can go, but how deeply an experience can transform the way we live once we return home. Longevity is not simply about extending life. It is about preserving curiosity, cultivating balance, and remaining fully present to the people, places, and moments that give life its richness. Self-care, in its truest sense, is neither indulgence nor performance. It is a discipline of attention—a conscious decision to care for the body, the mind, and the rhythm through which we move across the world. The journeys gathered in these pages are united by that philosophy. They lead to places where ancient traditions meet scientific innovation, where silence carries as much value as conversation, and where restoration is understood as something far deeper than relaxation. They remind us that travel can become a practice of renewal, returning us not only rested, but more attuned to ourselves.

Paris: The City That Keeps Calling Me Back
I have left Paris four times, and each time I was convinced I was done with it. Like every Parisian, I learned to complain about its flaws, its chaos, and its endless contradictions—only to discover, a few weeks after leaving, that I missed it more than I cared to admit. Paris is not a city I love unconditionally; it is a city that keeps calling me back. You only realize how deeply it lives within you once you try to leave.
